Though she may yet achieve 50 pages on Slowtwitch.

In her enduring quest for social media exposure that has to be worth something, right?

Is it just me or does it seem that someone who runs a 4:15 mile would have run D1 in college somewhere?

If he really wants to promote his coaching business and demonstrate the efficacy of his training methods, he would do well to post a video of him running a 4:15 mile.

It would go viral. At least among the running community.

His 4:15 mile equates to approximately 3:56 for 1500 meters. By comparison, the winning 1500 meter time in the Rio Olympics decathlon was 4:14.

So it appears we have someone who makes dubious and poorly substantiated claims of extraordinary athletic endeavours which are not at all reflected in her competitive record, but is seeking charity dollars while simultaneously promoting her business ventures and cultivating her on-line following, being coached by someone who makes similarly outlandish claims of their own prowess when promoting their own business.

Of course, there are no rats to smell here.

What's the problem with being fit to fight? You're basically saying the chick needs to throw some rolls on. Do you also say Gwen Jorgensen is too lean?

No I'm cool with skinny and fit. My wife is a runner and has done some Tri. It's just the overly muscled women. Gwen has a good build.

You're attracted to bones, the other guy likes muscles, big deal.

I don't think she'll complete this challenge, but she's easy enough on the eye.

I'm unlucky enough to work at a pool in the fattest town in the state (NSW, Australia), makes me sad. Mostly old folk that swim regularly, or the squad swimmers, but they're all pretty young. I once had an older European gentleman ask me "why are all the women who swim here so fat" I couldn't help but laugh.

Crossfit athletes are clearly very strong and powerful and can do great things.

But I have a bit of a problem when they say they are complete athletes that can do everything. They are much more on the fasttwitch side for sure. But then they do something average in the endurance world and say they can do both things. Average not in the sense of 50 ironmans but one ironman in 12 plus hours for a man. The general public cannot relate to that. But that times are so far off from being elite that it just proves that you need specialisation.

Imagine Mo Farah and Chris Froome going to the gym and saying look we can lift heavy weights so we are very strong and have tremendous endurance. The crossfit guys would only laugh at them.

So when Horner wants to show how good her endurance is, why does she not try to go sub 10 in one ironman? Or 2:40 in the marathon?

10k - 30:48 / half - 1:06:40

Secede from Australia, join America, and NSW, America, will be the thinnest state the in U.S. Problem solved.

Weird how far this PC crap has gone.

People now dictating to us who and why we are allowed to be attracted to.

Plenty of trans girls complaining that men aren’t attracted to them and therefore they and transphobic and have to work through their issues until they find them attractive.

Because of evolution most men are attracted to women with over 15-20% body fat due to ammenoreah being very common with lower body fat.

And most men aren’t attracted to overly muscly women because they look more like men.

Some men are attracted to these types and probably all men if they had no other choice but you shouldn’t get upset at men for saying who they find attractive. Especially when girls like this build their whole lives on wanting people to find them attractive.

Weird how far this push back on PC has gone.

I didn't read anybody dictate who you are allowed to find attractive. Political correctness is just trying to be a little less rude to others. If that is really a big problem for you then maybe look at why it's so important for you to insult others in the first place. Can't we just be a bit more polite?

It's still improbably fast for a guy of his size.

Again comparing it to the 1500 meter times for the Olympic Decathlon as an elite sample of athletic big dudes, his time still looks suspect. If we presume he did mean a 4:50 mile, his 1500 meter equivalent time of 4:29 would rank him above all but 7 of the 24 competitors at Rio.

Even allowing for some sloppy journalism (generously assuming the "1650 meter" mile is the journalist's tardiness), his mile PR does not pass the sniff test.

Concede the meat cleaver comment was probably over the line. But,...most "super bright" guys I know have enough common sense to know when they're making patently absurd claims. This guys specialty and focus is training athletes to run and lift better and he didn't realize claiming a 4:15 mile was beyond the pale? Come on now! With that said, I don't doubt he's a good coach for those looking for his brand of fitness.

Can anyone find any results for Alex? Couldn't find anything on athlinks.
