I wonder if the fork/bar will be an available upgrade to the current model?

You're not qualified to start another Official Thread because you're the definition of blasphemy.

look at the tube shapes, airfoil chords look different.

I'm hoping, and it looks like it should be possible, that you can just retrofit this new front end/fork to the old frame. Doesnt appear to have changed much from the fork, back.

If so, count me in.

Comparison shot with a 2012 SC:

Yeah. That much is obvious. I was talking about the rest of the frame thats hart to make out.

Also they appear to have gotten rid of the rubber piece behind the stem, so that hints at different cable routing into the frame.

The seat stay to seat tube interface looks slightly different, but that may be the angle.

I expected the downtube to hug the front wheel a little closer all the way up to the head tube, see the P5, Felt DA, Shiv, etc.

Seat stays definitely looks different to my eyes.

it would be cool if this version integrates the electronic-shifting battery, and by integrate i mean hide, like the P5. in the fantasy world where i can afford a Speed Concept, i can also afford Di2 or EPS.

theres a speedy gal who does our local series. she has a sweet 9.x. it has Di2, an SRM, some Zipps, etc. really nice. however, the battery is mounted under the bb and it looks amateurish.

Sweet looking bike, not enough of a change to make me want to run out and buy one... not yet anyway! As for the Di2 battery, the new Di2 internal battery fits very neatly inside the seat tube or up into the seat post itself and makes for a very clean installation. Since the battery charges through the junction box there's no need to access the battery itself.

I know that SC! We swam and rode near each other most of IMCDA. I was on the 4000. Great ride man.

How did you get the internal Di2 battery to fit? Do you have any pics of how it is secured? I asked Carl on the official SC thread, and he said the Shimano internal battery does not fit. If you made it work, I would love to see how, thanks!

Thanks! That was a fun race - something about the warmer water!

New Speed Concept...figures...LOL...I just got my 2013 9.9 two months ago. No way I would consider a change or upgrade at this point. Very happy with the bike. This bike is a beast. Will wait like everyone else to see about what changes were made for 2014. Figures though...

I think he said "officially' it doesn not fit since the SC is not equipped with an internal mount or anything to hold it but unofficially it does. I'll PM you some details this evening, the internaly battery is quite small, it even fits inside one of the aero extensions.

Are you saying it doesn't bode well for them because a) who they are following or b) because they aren't on a new one yet or c) something else?

Pity it doesn't *appear* riders will be able to run bars from any manufacturer - that was a big reason for me going with a SC7+Tula (oh and the cost :-) )

Also, if IIRC wasn't Lieto one of the first to have the original SC? If so, surely we'll be seeing a top triathlete (D Bockel?) with one very soon......

Kind of looks like the stem/bar will have a modular setup where you don't have to buy a $200 stem when you want to adjust something and spend half the day installing it. Different than the BMC TM01 but a similar philosophy. Or am I seeing things?

Some observations:

- Thicker / beefier fork
- Thicker downtube
- Thinner base bar without upturns at the end
- Thinner seatpost (no more seatpost head?)
- Adjustable arm pad wings
- Integrated stem with single height spacer
- Integrated aero bar?

What I would hope for:

- Barrel adjuster for rear brake
- Chain stop at bottom bracket for chain slap
- Stronger base for rear derailleur hangout
- More stem horizontal / vertical stem options
- Lighter
- Cheaper
- Cheaper
- Cheaper

(Carl, are you getting all of this?)

Any chance we will see these tonight on the TTT in the tour? Do you think we could spot the difference between this and last years SC?
