Woah that's awesome. Thanks for the insight Brian. Really curious to see how this pans out.

Speaking of the tilt...

I just started adjusting the extensions and putting on the angled spacer to get some tilt.

How do you get the bolt that goes up through the bottom of the base bar, to screw into the sliding unit thing inside the extension with the tilt? Because the bolt is still coming straight up through the base bar, but it’s needing to screw into the receiving end that is now at an angle.

Your tilt kit comes with a sliding unit that has angled threads. Swap that one out with the one you have and your threads will go straight up.

My tilt kit had its own nut plates. I used them without looking too closely to see if they were different from the ones the bike came setup with.

I will take a look tomorrow and see if I can tell the difference without taking the extensions apart.

Well I’ll be damned...there it is, lol.

How do I get in to swap it out? Does the cap at the end of the extensions just pop off?

clearly I am, actually. I rerouted my extensions to make this swap.

Once life cools off a bit, I was thinking of doing a few more tutorials for Dan for stuff like this.

Btw, if you have an old brake or derailleur cable, save it. When changing the position of the extensions and other front end work, it is the easiest way to thread the cable wire all the way down, tie it to the DI2 cable and pull out to the end.
If anyone else has an easier way, I would be interested to hear.

Lol, I already took the bar end shifters off because I had to move the cable back a few holes, which I did. As I’m sitting there wondering if the plastic end cap pops off, and if I should try wedging a flathead screwdriver in there to pry it off...I tipped it back to get a closer look, and the plates slid out the open side onto the floor.

Yuuuuuuuup, lol. Someone might need to take my Allen wrenches away before I hurt myself.

You can put any Allen wrench in the rearward top hole in the extension and tap it and the end cap will come off.

Also - on the one button extension shifters the switch unplug (turn clockwise to remove) you will see a small plastic fork like tool that comes with bike to re-install the wire into the extension switch.

It’s also very helpful if you remove the elbow cups when making cockpit length adjustments or installing the tilt kit.

You can also use a quick release (screw it into the end of the receiver) to hold it in position while you get the bolts started.

The base unit can be used for your computer mounts and hydration for short course (29oz).

With the cage on for (course bottle swap) - the base unit is used for computer mount and for concentrate nutrition and the bottle for hydration.

Straw receiver on the left and computer will mount to the fill cap. The cage titl is so the bottle will clear the computer.

Let see if I did this right and the images up-load.

prob a dumb question, but you do have an allowance for a little vent im guessing dan?

I've seen it in person. As a prototype it isn't super sexy but still very cool. So how about them tunnel results Brian?

Yup. I don't ride a Tactical but tested at A2 with Brian last week and I was a bit surprised that adding some tilt on my SC was worse at yaw (10deg). I came in with very minimal tilt and tested a set of Vuka Evo 110 extensions that put my hands about 2" higher. They are essentially "lazy" s-bends that mimic adding tilt. This pic is my baseline position. It's faster at yaw than having my hands higher and closing the gap between hands and head. The testing saved me from making a mistake based on what seemed to be logical. I also have a BTA bottle in there that you can't see.

The tilt is a whole different beast though. Seems to be best on the riders that go the fastest (think pro cyclists) and does worse consistently on athletes who experience more time at higher yaws. I didn't see anything in these sessions that makes me think different.

I don’t know?? maybe in the future.

There was talk at TBI of Zwift starting a campaign utilizing virtual banners, signs, decals on bikes and shirts etc..., as a new revenue source (advertising) targeting companies in the bike business.

So get ready for potential brand overload. Maybe someone should start on a TIVO plug and play 😊

I'm working with a local fabricator to create a custom 3d printed stem to attach an Aeria Hydration to the premier. Anyone interested in a group buy? Have 3 people total already. Don't know pricing yet as still working on how it will be mounted either clamps to to the bottom. Can get a better idea once I know how many people would be interested.

Will an X lab 300 rear water bottle fit on the seat post? I have an ISM PN Saddle, looking for rear seat hydration options.

if youre talking about a delta 300, then yes... thats what i used last season with an ISM saddle. worked like a champ. from my memory i had to get a little creative with the bottom bolt... i just sandwiched the seat post between the delta mount and put the bolt in the rear most bolt holes and tightened it down.

Do you have a photo? So you just used one bolt instead of 2?

i dont have one handy.

https://www.xlab-usa.com/delta-300.html

look at the product pic...

so the top bolt i just threaded through the seat post as in the pic. look at their product's first pic, the one with the red lettering on the seat post. you can either drill a hole through your seat post (i didnt wanna do this) or do like i did... just sandwich the seat post between the two halfs of the delta 300 mount and put the bolt through the rear most holes and tighten it down. it will be plenty secure and snug... at least from my experience.

Got xlab 300 rear mount installed. How hard can I tighten the bolt? It's pretty firm right now and doesn't move when I remove the bottle, but don't want to damage the seat post.

Can't answer that, but the picture got me thinking. What is quicker: mounting that bolts as you have which places the bottles at a lower position or mounting the Xlab on the opposing set of bolts which would raise everything up closer to your seat/butt?

Do you have it mounted on the bottom holes? I don't think it would hold as you have to sandwich the seat post in.
