I just want to give a big shout out to Dan. Had a little SNAFU with the bike when it was delivered and Dan went well out of his way to help me out and get me the parts need to get me on the road and training for IMAZ. Anyone considering the Premier, don't hesitate, what a beauty.

That lid looked short in the image.

Ok so I mis-spoke. I just took my lid off (had to cut the RTV I use to keep everything sealed) - anyway - I put two tire levers (cut short), Air filler for CO2 and crack pipe for disk in the lid. That gave me room in the main storage for the extra CO2.

I'm using Genuine Innovations CO2 which is 20.5 mm wide.

Do you tape it to the top of the lid or just stuff it in? What's the benefits of using RTV over electrical tape?

I just stuff it in. The RTV just looks better 😊

Wanted to mention another example of Dan going above and beyond to help a customer.

I emailed Dan late on Wednesday night while I was packing my bike up for Ironman Florida. The thread on the inside of my derailleur hangar was stripped. I could get my allen key in, but the actual thread was spinning freely inside the bike. Dan helped me overnight the part directly to the race site at Ironman Florida. My bike was fixed up 90 minutes before check in closed. The bike tech said I was have been "fucked 10 ways to Sunday" if I didn't get that part in. Dan's ability to help in a crunch is truly outstanding! Thanks again Dan.

The Tactical is a great bike. I've had a string of general "bad bike luck" it seems this year, but Dan has been so helpful across the variety of non-Tactical specific issues that I've had. If you're interested in a Tactical, I actually put mine up on classifieds a few weeks ago. Don't want to hijack the thread for a used sale, so PM me rather than replying if you are interested.

Thanks Dan!

I know this have been brought on this thread but I can't find it. What size hex is required to take off the rear storage?

either a 3 or 4 mm T handle. We changed bolt size at one point when we upgraded the lid attachment.

Dan,

I recall reading that the original Tactical design might support changeover (or swapping) to a road bike setup. Any further thoughts or progress on that?

Yes- I’m working on that conversation kit.

The first design for the stem base was not strong enough so I had to re-design it. I have a prototype that I have been using for a few months. The part will go through further testing in January.

Is a case still included in the purchase of the bike? It's in the video on your website, but isn't mentioned in all that's included. I'm trying to decide between the Tactical, a Canyon, and a QR. Leaning towards the Premier at the moment. I know that $200 towards a bike fit was included - is that still the case?

The travel case is not included and is not available at this time. The bike fit allowance is not included with the sale price.

That's a bummer. You may want to update the website because clicking on the image of the case says it is included and shipped at no additional cost.

Hey Dan,

Any major differences between the old deep dish front you have on sale and the current version that comes on the bike? Seems like a great deal on the old ones

Not much difference on the front wheels. We changed to UD carbon on the new wheels instead of the weave.

The disc has changed a lot with our new molds.

The black decals are high gloss instead of matt finish on the original wheels.

I'm in the process of packing the bike. In watching the video, was the pulley removed? If so is it easy to reinstall? Do you suggest using the cage to protect the rear shifter, or taking it off the frame completely and putting cardboard around it?

I have done it both ways. With the possibility of TSA taking off the straps and then not putting them back on - I have been removing the rear Mech (5 mm allen) and the chain (quick link) and then just re-installing them when I arrive. I also have been removing the BB cover.

TSA is getting worse and its not worth the risk. Its very easy to reinstall.

I am seriously looking to upgrade my bike from my current QR CD0.1 size S and Premier bikes attract me as I am a smaller built (160cm). I once attached my bike fit report to some of the 'bike fitting threads' here and they mentioned that my fitting is 'unorthodox'. So I'd like to get some inputs whether Premier would suit be better. From the sizing chart, I am better off with the 650c model, but I'd love to go with the 700c model if possible as the back storage compartment is really enticing and not to mention I can swap out the 700c wheelset with my roadbikes.

Can you send me your fit numbers? dan.premierbike@gmail.com

At 160 cm I would think you would need the XS for stand over height and for the 155 crank arms. I'm happy to look over your numbers and provide some in-put.

Hi,
Thought I’d share my experience with being a smaller person myself.
I’m 166cm and was on a sz S Trek SC 9 series. The fit was ok and I raced for 4 seasons on it. A few issues for me was not able to get more aggressive and toe overlap (not end of the world since I rarely needed to turn in triathlons!). Hip angle was also causing lower back issues for me.

Since switching to the XS 650c I’ve found myself more aero and comfortable. I’m able to go longer and lower and still have tons of room to move lower in the front. The shorter cranks have also allowed my hips to open up and cause less lower back issues.

I wouldn’t say it’s perfect as it’s a 700c world so I always pack extra everything regarding wheels/tubes/tyres. There won’t be rear storage but not a big deal (for me at least) as I’ve just used a behind the saddle cage with flat kit in a bottle.
But overall I would recommend the XS.

Hope that helps.
Cheers
