Dan, I was looking at the pics on FB. I still don’t see a Garmin mount on the hydration system. Am I missing it or was there a decision to exclude it?

I did not include the mount in the set. With the main 29 oz unit installed - the Garmin can be attached to the “T”. With the upper cage and bottle there is not a good place for it unless the quarter turn adapter is attached to the fill lid. I did not want to try and include that in the set.

dan can you post a pic of this setup? i liked the garmin mount on the fill cap, but completely understand if it wasn’t doable.

still excited about mine coming in!

I will post a pic when I get home. I have it set up on my bike. I think the lid is an option. Most of the quarter turn adaptors have a single or double screw hole in them. It would not be too difficult to put a hole in the lid to attach it.

Thanks for the update Dan! I can't wait to get this hydration kit put on. I too was hoping for an all inclusive solution including garmin mount. So you are saying we could possibly attach it to the fill cap with rivets and some RTV to seal it maybe? Could you please post pics of yours here too as I'm not on FB and usually I cannot view the pics there.. Thanks again!

Maybe just a hole in the lid with a small screw through the 1/4 turn and cap with a nut on the back.

This system keeps telling me my image exceeds the maximum size. - Sorry.

Do you have any test data on your wax drip lube that you can share?

I do not. We have not done any formal testing on the lube.

Just got my hydration set in the mail and am curious about what computer mount options folks come up with. I have until IMAZ in November to find something that works! Another thing I'm going to figure out is a method for tucking the straw down to lay flat. I was thinking a magnet but really anything that I could loop it under would also work. I really wish I had a 3d printer and some CAD skills :(

I tried it mounted on the filler cap.. it was mediocre at best. It popped off one time when I hit a medium pot hole. Here you can see the quarter turn mount on my filler cap and something I'm going to try out with the rubber O rings. I have a local oly this weekend where I plan to use the mount with the o rings instead of the cap. I have the straw tucked under my armrest, but depending on set up, I see where that wouldn't work for some.. I'm interested to see what others come up with

Thanks, that worked. I like the o-ring setup. Is it difficult to see the computer when in aero? I haven't installed the hydration kit yet to see how much obstruction there is from the cage bottle.

Also, what pads are you using? I'm still stock but want to swap out with something else.

I only rode the bike with the computer mounted on the filler cap. Visibility was fine there, but I would have preferred to have it back a little, as my thumbs were on the computer when relaxing my hands in aero. I will simply slide the o rings forward or back to where the computer is most visible and has the least amount of interference with my hands... and is not blocked by the bottle in the front cage. Even though I won't really need that bottle this weekend for the short race, I usually ride them fully decked out for practice for long races as I'm not trying to win, just stay in the groove.

Those are Profile Design Ergo cups and pads: https://www.amazon.com/...t_dp_U_MP9xDbMBPK9WE I really like them. They are not "direct" replacements though. The Premier cups use M4 bolts, the PD cups use M5 bolts. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal to use the M4's instead of the M5's with the PD cups. Problem is: the heads are beveled and the fit flush against an opposing bevel on the cup. M4 has a smaller head, so when you try to tighten it down so the cup won't slide when you're riding, it starts to cut into the plastic. I tapped the inserts inside the aero extensions to M5 and everything worked fine. There are other options out there that are direct replacements that others may comment on (51 Speedshop?)

so i removed the little straw keeper from the top of my xlabs torpedo bottle. its pictured 3rd from the left after the two fill lids...

https://www.xlab-usa.com/torpedo-reload-kit.html

here i used the keeper with one of the nuts that came with the tactical hydration kit. note, the threads do not match. when you mount it like this you will be making new threads on the little bolt with the supplied tactical nut.

while looking around on the xlabs site i ran across this.

https://www.xlab-usa.com/space-saver.html

i think it may be a potential all in one solution for a computer mount as well as straw keeper. im going to order one and see.

Riding down Front Street and under the EL, in the City of Philadelphia, I passed a group of teenagers on bikes. They saw my new Premier Tactical and their necks just about broke as one of them exclaimed,

"Holy S*&@, what the F!@#is that? Thats the coolest bike I have ever seen"

I was trying to find a place to mount my Wahoo element bolt and was looking at the aerobridge as an option.

We live near each other....also getting a premier tactical when the budget allows...I look forward to silently riding past each other on the SRT with a slight nod to only minimally affect our aero gains.

how exactly would you make the aerobridge work?

i knew i had seen a magnetic holder on a different system and i found it!

https://profile-design.com/...aeria-hsf-magnet-kit

just ordered... going to have to modify the base magnet piece to make it flat but i think this will work quite nicely.

Made some mods to my system.
1) straw replaced with one that has more flow control
2) moved straw position to cap due to pads too close together and covering the original straw spot
3) plugged original straw opening with a foam/silicone ear plug
4) sawed off the “hooks” on bottom of bottle for easy removal/installation without having to remove arm cups each time
5) used Velcro stickers to keep straw in place (works ok as sticker does come loose when wet) but I mainly tuck the mouthpiece under one of the arm pads to keep it secured

so the only thing ive never been 100% satisfied with my bike is the lid on the draft box. please take no offense dan!

i saw a video that the dude that runs custombikeaccesories posted on instagram with a nice magnetic lid for one of his custom draft boxes...

https://www.instagram.com/...?igshid=9000l20dpn9z

i hope that link works.

i contacted him asking if he had any ideas to make this work with our bikes. he said he could possibly recreate the entire box with a lid like this, or possibly do a retrofit job.

would anyone else be interested in an option like this?

With the box lid my solution was to do a BTS mount with zip ties and a water bottle that basically sits on top of the box lid. Yes, I have to remove the water bottle to access my flat kit...but that is fine by me.

As for the aerobridge, I have no idea how I would make that work.

I am also pretty freaking happy with my bike. I have raced two 70.3's on it over back to back weekends and couldn't be more satisfied...other than losing my hydration cap on a hard bump.

So I've had my hydration for a bit now. Some parts I like, some parts I don't :) Here's some photos first:
https://imgur.com/a/bqwq6vb

1.) I replaced the cage with my own. Lost my bottle on my first ride.
2.) I mounted my bike computer out front with some zip ties. It doesn't look too sturdy, but the way the mount is forced up against the grips seems to hold it in place pretty well. On my really bumpy ride (where I lost my BTA bottle, and my downtube bottle) the mount was fine. I'd love to find a better solution for this, though.
3.) I velcro'd the straw down. Works great. The straw is probably my favorite part of the whole unit.

Things I'd love to change:
1.) Some sort of fill cap tether. I'm going to have to move my computer a bit, pop the cap, and fill it on the go, reversing the process before riding on. I'm gonna try to hack together a tether for the cap.
2.) Some sort of out-front mount that could stick on the end of the hydration unit. I tried riding with the bottle cage that has a dedicated mount location and it was way too low for me.

The hydration is pretty good, but my honest opinion would be that for the price it should be perfect and not require any modifications to work as well as I need.

Excited to see more out-front mount options!

For filling on the fly you can use a standard paper punch and put a hole in the fill cap tab. Then just use one of the zip ties that come with the set and attach a zip tie holder.

I tried to upload a few images but I can seem to get that done correctly.

I'll put images up on our Facebook page.
