There is a rule that you must be able to pass a business card between the seat tube and the tire. (or something to that effect). The XS mold allows for that - it does not have the fender effect. :-)
thats very interesting! i didnt know that.

someone actually commented on my bike once about how the seat tube wraps around the rear tire and how awesome of a design it was.

The Tactical has a lot of small things like that to improve aero that all add up. a few watts here and there. Stacking spacers, rear storage, rear wheel wrap, 42 cm base bar, BB cover, tube shapes.

It's interesting that; in the aero shoot out the Tactical was within the error bars on the P5 and 2 watts behind the P5X at 1/2 the cost. And, that is in a wind tunnel. On the road where it matters - you benefit from our ceramic BB (1-2 watts) and the optimized chain (5-6 watts) ........ well - those of you that own one know :-) - really no comparison.

How many miles should I be able to get out of the chain? 75-80% of my riding is on the trainer.

As long as you keep it wax lubed (every 300 miles) you will get 5,000 miles out of the chain. You can use ours or Squirt Lube to get the best results and best longevity.

Should I just assume an average outdoor run rate for the trainer miles, i.e., 20mph and therefore about 15 hours of ride time between waxes?

We had some orders processed using Paypal for payment. Paypal sent the money to a different account. We already filled most of the orders so we lost the money. On the two that were not filled we were able to stop the shipment so the customers can file a claim with Paypal for reimbursement.

I have contacted Paypal.

Damn. That's awful.
I can't imagine there's a scenario where you don't get all of that money back though right? Paypal customer service is generally pretty decent in my experience, and in the same way that a credit card company will refund you if someone stole the card and bought something, I imagine you're money will come back to you, no?

Thank you but according to Paypal management - no - Paypal will not do anything for all the shipments where the customer has received the product.

Customers ordered and got what they ordered. The customers have no complaint with Paypal.

The only two orders with a good outcome were for one bike and one chain that I stopped shipment on. So, in that case the customer opens a dispute and says they paid for something and they did not get the item. Paypal then goes to who ever got the money and asks them to produce a shipping document (which obviously they can't do) and the customer on those two orders will get a refund.

Did you have two factor authentication on PayPal? Just curious how worried I should be.

I just added two part authentication. I did not have it before. I have it now on everything I can think of.

But it is automatic on the back end of the online store. They gave a long rambling answer that made no sense to me. Somehow I did not get notified.

Depending on the $$$, and with the caveat that I know nothing about law, it seems like you could hire a lawyer and get the money back from someone. I know that for the most part, IP addresses can't be legally attached to a certain person, but I feel like the argument could be made that there is no way you were at the IP from where the change was made. And for sure, Paypal has all that IP information.

Yeah I mean probably at least worth exploring. I know google does (or at least used to), send an email with the IP address of any new or questionable device that was used to log in to your google account. It then would give you the option to say that isn't me. It would seem like paypal would require some decent security there considering their business. Hope it gets worked out somehow!

I would imagine at some point the foam pads on the base bar and extensions would need to be replaced? I’ve been mostly riding the trainer but I sweat like crazy. And they soak up most of it. What’s protocol for replacing it?

Just a note that we have added our Hard Travel Case back on the website for pre-orders.

The factory has all the raw materials and will begin manufacturing next week. I expect about a week for production and then 4-6 weeks of ocean freight and inland freight/customs clearance.

Hey Dan! Quick question on the case: I know it mentions that you don't have to remove the base bar for most triathlon bikes. Would aero bars still have to be removed? Or is the case long enough to support leaving on Aero bars as well?

Easily my favorite case. Makes traveling with my Speed Concept a breeze. I just remove two Di2 cables, remove the aerobars, remove the rear derailleur, and pack the bike. Easy peasy. I've gone to using a Jet 4+ front wheel and I travel with a 90 and a disc or instead of the 90 I bring along a H3+. Depends on the course and the weather forecast.

No - you need to be able to fold or remove the extensions. On our bike its' just 4 bolts and then tie them to the top tube. On many bikes it will be the same idea. For Etap you can just remove the extension all together.

You also need to remove the wheels and seat (our seat and post just slide out and I unplug the DI-2). I take off my speedplay pedals just to make sure nothing hits my wheels if TSA loosens the bike when they inspect.
