It's cool that the Tempor is "back" and all, but you'd think that someone with POC or one of the countless track/aero guys that have the helmet dialed would have bothered to tell the guys using it how to make it sit low on your head so that it is actually fast. When it's "on" it's hilariously fast. When it isn't, like when it's worn like the entirety of EF (that has had one) has worn it thus far, they'd be faster wearing a standard road helmet...

Not sure how you guys watch

I use expressVPN. I go to steephill.tv look at all the countries, pick english (New Zealand or Australia) or french (Belgium or France) and boom. Works every time. Speaking French helps.

Belgium is always better than France for French coverage...go figure

thank you.....

I used to use a vpn and eurosport but eurosport wouldn't take payment from a US source and I didn't find a work around

i now do Flobikes and NBC Gold but getting pricey

This TT is off-the-chain fast. Looks super fun.

I thought expressVPN was sketch, and turned out to be the contrary. Very professional installation and support
Bonus is I have used it when travelling to get content from home or around certain country restrictions (China for example)

Though I find starting a GT with an ITT boring. Would much rather see a full on free-for-all sprint or lumpy stage to kick things off.

GT ought to gain some time today. But surprised Ganna doesn’t have a bigger gap.

Yes. But, I do like the intrigue created by the threat of being :30 sec (or more) down right out of the gate. Or up. Didn't realize Almeida could turn in such a good time.

Well that truly sucked to crash on a completely straight section and it looks like he did not have the same luck as his crash during TdF stage 1 in Nice where he bounced off the sign in the rain. It looks like the ambulance took him off the course. I hope he is OK, and if it is, he could be a major factor at Vuelta

It is a helluva TT course, one truly for the specialists. Looks like many of the GC guys are :60-90 behind GT, great first day for him. Yates too.

Hopefully McNulty puts in a good ride

Ganna is one hell of a likeable rider. In his post race interviews he always seems genuinely grateful for his team and support. He constantly mentions that every time.

Jumbo wasted Tom Dumoulin's legs at the TdF (hindsight 2020). They should have brought him to the Giro with all this TTing.

Amen. He had the legs to win this.

As an aside I just realized that Ganna's bike says "Top Ganna" on it with the Top Gun insignia. That is ace.

Absolutely, he’s very likable. And an Italian world champ winning to take Maglia Rosa is a storybook beginning. He had a 60 front chainring—would love to drool over his power file.

In lesser (but still pretty neat) news, Lawson Craddock finished in 8th place today. Does anyone have an image with him and the new EF jersey and Tempor TT helmet with the duck on the tail?

That was both a high and low point for Lawson. The Italian fashion police are mobilizing for a full on assault.

Meanwhile (as Carlton Kirby likes to say) in Belgium, an elephant makes an appearance at Bincks Bank

A good reminder that I should stock up on beer

Also, impressive ride by M vdP. Made the peloton chase him for more than an hour and still had enough to hold it off.

I am enjoying Dowsett’s “sponsor incorrect wheel of the day” choices. How he gets away with that when Factor and Black Inc are the same company is beyond me. His garage must be stacked floor to ceiling with different wheels.

He isn't using a sponsor incorrect wheel. He's using a HED GT3, and a HED Stinger disc. HED provides the TT wheels for the team. How BlackInc didn't get the nod for the TT stuff (which they do indeed manufacture) is beyond me.

That was insane. I can't remember when such a small gap was held for so long against high quality, often cooperative chasers.

I really hope Roubaix happens.

Well, you get the feeling that had Naesen contributed a bit more, it could have come back together. Naesen was skipping a lot of turns, and one gets the impression that his strategy was hoping the others would have brought it back for him, so that he could outsprint the blokes who just did the yeomen's work. I don't think I've seen him race so negatively before...

Naesen crashed bad on stage 1, maybe he wasn’t trusting form.

Since Amstel is canceled MvdP decided to reenact his ridiculous show of dominance today.

Will see if he left anything in tank for tomorrow.

I'm going with Alaphilippe in his Rainbow debut. Hirschi, Schachmann

WC: Consnefroy, Frison

yikes, didn't realize he's racing tomorrow.

Should have kept his powder dry. Though then again, he doesn't get to go after stage race overalls that often...
