Gotta love it. Every time I finish an IM, I'm thinking to myself that I need to get to the gym right away and hit the weights hard for an hour or so, because my body craves those deadlifts as opposed to getting something to eat then hitting the sack!
Wait a minute! is Captain Butthurt gonna call me out simply because I made an observation?
I notice in her IG posts after a training session she often indicates the session was done fasted as if maximizing calorie burn is a smart thing to be doing before you set off to complete 50 IMs in 51 days
She's running a really big risk of getting rhabdo if she's going into the heat for multiple hours on scant fuel and depending on muscle. Body starts eating muscle for fuel and kidneys fail clogged with muscle-protein-as-fuel byproducts. Scary shit and can leave you with kidney damage for life.
Rhabdo stories and mention of Ironmans. I got a light touch of it running an ultramarathon and had a fun visit to the hospital.
