Love the Toms pick, such a good dude. We’re going to have him in podcast next month around ToC.

My picks for the Amstel Gold Race:

Kwiato, Wellens, Sagan
Gilbert, Nibali

Find it hard to pick a few guys, wanted to put Stybar and maybe Terpstra in there as well, don't think GvA has it but still.. It's going to be an interesting one

funny, those are my picks too
Kwiato and Wellens are legit podium picks
Sagan is the wildcard podium pick and
Gilbert and Nibali are my emotional wildcard picks

I am debating the more mature choices of Colbrelli or ValVerde

Exactly! I was kinda hoping for a break by Wellens and Nibali, maybe including Gilbert in there from a bit further away and hoping that a small group of Kwiato and Sagan picks them up again right at the end, sprinting for the podium. One can dream I guess haha.

Nice picks. Would love to see Wood's first ProTour win be a classic.

Realistically I got to pick
Valverde, Martin, Alliphellipe.

Back -ups
Roglic, Nibali, Bargill

I left Sagan off my picks. Usually not a good idea. I gambled that he’s not refocused and determined after PR, maybe even tired? But Sagan at 80% can get still do it if things break right for him.

Sagan could get DQ, cut through a parking lot. GvA is the David Hasselhoff of the world tour peloton.

thinkin' the same. Not having a good feeling about it. Even though he only gained a handful of spots - officials will be wrestling with "do we let this guy get away with it and get shat on or do we make an example of him and get shat on" :)

Luke Rowe got hooked at Flanders recently for no real good reason. But we know how arbitrary it can be.

Valgren is the real deal. Had big results but after bagging two classics this year and just missing Ronde podium he’ll be a fav next year.

You mean Craddock? Think he may have a top ten

Those big favs really shat that one away. No way Sagan is going to burn himself, and he wasnt bluffing. They didnt think he’d bluff and failed to react while the intrepid rode away. Well done to the attackers

Yes, Craddock got 9th from the break. Valgren went twice and still had the juice. Great ride.

And i bet he enjoyed sticking it to Gasparotto, who beat the former in the 2016 edition

Really want to pick Gatto. Also good to see Nibali swapping more classics paint.

Good picks, i also think on the velogames competition were are 10 points apart so it will come down to the wire! I will get my picks done early as well as I'm off to joe martin stage race this weekend. For Amstel i think Gilbert is off form this season, just does not seem to have it and its not like he is riding into form after all the classics work. I would love to see Sagan win and silence the haters but it will come down to tactics and his form.

Sagan, Colbrelli, Valverde
Gilbert and Skujines for the ultra long shot

Catch a replay of the last 10 k or so of Tro Bro Leon. Damien Gaudin puts in an amazing defense of his title there.

Got to give credit to Gasparato’s teammate though, riding another classic and lined up for third monument next week. Can’t imagine Nibali will miss Il Lombardia so that’ll make it four. Sure looks like his year is for a tilt at world champs.

Thanks for the tip! I just watched the last 1/2 hour. Gaudin definitely gave it everything he had!

I think these last few races will be more open than the "harder" cobbled rides. and I find it telling that Phil is not listed for either races this week. I think he was all in on the early rides. its a shame it didn't happen. anyway, I am in for the Fleche. and i'll probably use these for LBL unless someone really shows up.

VALVERDE
ALAPHILIPPE
BARDET

MATTHEWS
GASPAROTTO

You mean Gilbert? He's on the startlist for both Fleche and LBL.
