In my case the straw leaks from the drinking tip, not from where it inserts in the bottle.

This definitely shouldn't happen. Can you shoot me an email with a pic of the cap and one of it in the bottle? As another Slowtwitcher mentioned there is a small hole in the cap to release air pressure in the bottle, but it shouldn't leak to the amount you are saying. Please do reach out to me as I want to get rid of your sticky mess :)

Please shoot us an email. Bottles should not be leaking around the cap. I am going to launch an internal investigation as there have been a couple of complaints now.

As far as leaking around the base of the straw, not sure how this could happen. The straw fit should be very tight to get into the hole. But email us and we can get you situated!

Holly,

Did you contact us to get the replacement straw and plugs? We can send some out to you tomorrow. Please DM me or email me with your details and a copy of your original receipt.

As far as the testing we did do both road and internal testing. I personally tested the Torpedo System 400 model and have quite a bumpy batch of road that I ride over.

Great mounting idea Kevin! And thanks for the feedback on the bite valve. Will mention that to my engineers.

Hi Candice, I was in contact with Damon, but never received the replacement plugs and straw. Still not sure where the spraying is coming from. I only used it once during a race.

Can you send me an email with a pic of the bite valve without the silicone cover? It might be the internal parts are bent. Also the silicone cover sometimes gets caught on the round piece. Want to make sure it is not tucked. Do you bite down on the bite valve with your teeth?

So I took it out today. I noticed some water hit my legs after I hit a rough section of pavement. The bottle did not leak the entire ride. The water came from the bite valve when it chattered against the bottle when under the dolphin tail.
After drinking from the tube, I now just clear it by blowing the water back into the bottle. I do this when using a CamelBack in when climbing in the mountains. It keeps the water from freezing in the tube.

I like the view of the 510 better with the mount moved way back. The back of the bottle does occasionally brush my knees. Definitely going to elongate the rear strap slots for now to move the system slightly forward.
The computer mount base still needs to be ground down flush so it will stay on place better. Until I can replace it with something better

I bought some aluminum flat bar to replace the X lab Velcro straps. Even after re-snugging them, I don't like how the bottle moves back and forth (rubs against forarms) when the road surface is not ideal.

Is that the PD 'HC mount'? Did you need new hardware or did the screws etc that came with the xlab work with it?
Great idea.

Yup. The HC mount worked great. The XLaB bolts are the right tread and they just plug right in. Looks great and clean!

Curious why you switched from the straps to the flat bar? The side to side sway would be due to the straps not being tight enough I would think.

Thanks for your feedback on the system, appreciate all input!!

Minor detail but the directions suggest putting the plug for the extra hole in from inside the bottle. That way it sits flush on the outside, plus it wouldn't be lost if it happens to pop out.

I used the 2 Profile Designs aluminum brackets. Same as Kevintaddonio. The slots on the Mini mount were in a position that forced me the have the Garmin sitting just shy of my shifters or having the bottle so far back, my knees would brush my knees on occasion.
It is a little cleaner set up too with just 4 zip ties. The Xlab velcro was hard to snug up tight and the arm rests were kinda in the way.
The PD brackets allow me to position the mount in a more ideal spot and the garmin is between my wrist.

I took a small round file to the bottle cage hole and filed maybe 4mm towards the top of the cage to elongate them. Then I took maybe 3mm off the holes on the mini mount towards the back (cyclist direction) to elongate. I was able to gain a little more clearance for the garmin 510.
The gamin still rotates forward every few miles on the xlab mount and I just twist it back into view for info.
Now that I have the bottle where I want it, I know where the Garmin sits on the mount. I plan on using epoxy to hold the Garmin twist mount to the Xlab computer mount to stop the rotation.

As far as the bottle leaking. I have not had any leaking from the plug, straw or around the cap. With the solid cap, if you fill the bottle almost full to full, it will come out the tiny vent hole. I would expect it too. I just don't top the bottle and it works great. You gotta have a way for air to get in
For extra fluids, I have my Delta mount which I have been very happy with.
Candice,
Thank you for listening to our feedback.

Will this be available as the bottle only or bottle and cage for those of us that already have purchased the xlab carbon mount, cage and computer mount. If so, how much?

I elongated the slots for the velcro straps as well because it interfered with my armrests. Everything fits perfectly now.

I purchased the refill upgrade kit from inside out sports, they have them in stock in their retail stores (Charlotte / Raleigh) and online at insideoutsports.com

I have had mine for about 2 weeks, raced with it at the Carolina half and really like it.

So I can't seem to get my bottle to sit flush when my 910xt is mounted. I've got every screw as far back as possible with the front mount as forward as possible. You can see the bottle is actually resting on the front of the watch. If I push down on the bottle to get it flush, it pushes the watch far down, or if I try and put the watch on after the bottle, it looks like the last picture. Anyone else have this issue?

I checked out your pics...is there any way to bring back the cage more? Looking at the first photo you are about halfway on the cage slot. If there is something blocking the cage you can try putting more spacers under the cage to bring it back and over

This worked! I took the screw out of the hole from furthest back and pushed the cage back. I then remounted it to the plate and voila! Everything fit, used it this morning around Fiesta Island is total success. Thank ya :)

I found an easy fix for the computer mount and the garmin 510. Since the X lab mount has a smaller diameter and width than the Garmin twist mount, the 510 would keep rotating forward with road vibration.
There is a rubber tape in the electrical section of the hardware store. I wrapped the X Lab computer mount to make it bigger.
The tape, when stretched, turns grey. This causes it to heat up and vulcanize (bond) to the previous layer.
After 10 or so laps of tape, going around the mount, the garmin twist mount fit well.
One 20 mile test ride and the 510 never moved.
