Yes I have a 2013 P2 and been testing a pre-production one. Fits perfectly; especially with the new mount we installed called the Torpedo Mini Mount...much narrower than our standard Torpedo Mount. As far as moving to get the straw it is very minimal movement and you can technically leave it untucked if you wanted.

thanks for that candice. I just checked my 3t bars, there is 6cm inbetween them, not a lot of room!

Make sure you request it at your dealer or contact our distributor, Wasp. Showing there's demand will help get it there sooner rather than later :)

Well I just measured my mount and the widest part is roughly 5cm ;) I think you will be good! Really have to remember to post a pic of the new mount on the website. Setting myself a reminder now.

Dan,

Where was that and did they give a ship date? I'd like to pick one up but would like a few rides on it before my IM Aug 18.

Thanks.

I ordered it from my LBS (Nytro), hopefully their website date of 9/13 is not accurate. This will fit a garmin quick release/910xt right?

We should start shipping to dealers end of this month. We are close to selling out of the 1st batch so make sure you call your dealer today and get one on order so you don't have to wait for the second batch to come in.

Candice,

Are you aware of any shop (mail order) that hasn't sold out of the first batch of the 100 series. I'm looking to place an order but want to get it as soon as possible to use in practice before race day 8/18 (IMMT).

Thanks,
Tom

Hey,

Yes it will fit the garmin 910xt but requires the quick release kit as you mentioned. If I were you I would confirm with Nytro on that date so you know for sure.

Hey Tom, Unfortunately I am not given this information. We have just received feedback that stores are getting a lot of pre-orders for these. I would check with the big online stores and get dates from them.

Sorry I can't be of more help. :-(

Hi Candice

two questions:

1) Have you tested this on Pro Missile Evo with the aero extensions set in the "narrow" position? I had your old Torpedo mount, but I could not fit any bottle on that one as the pads are too narrow.

2) When will we be seeing this en Europe and will the price be inflated compared to US price like many of the other xlab products?

Pretty sure it is the same Torpedo mounting plate. You could set the plate under the bars and use the spacers to raise up the bottle cage? Just a thought.

I placed my order with Art's Cyclery on 7/17/13. The inital backorder ship date was for 7/22/13. Then the ship date went to 8/5/13. That day as well has come and gone. I wrote them a E-Mail 4 days ago about a possible update on shipping. No reply. I had ordered the 100. Has anyone got there bottle/system yet?

can't.

And would need a lot of spacers to rise the bottle cage above bars and pads. The pads are so narrow that at the moment I have a speedfill A2 bottle simply squeezed in between the pads and just secured by the Velcro band that came with the A2. No cage can fit in between the pads. And the bottle only fits when I place it there, between the pads, while empty. So I would need a narrow torpedo mount that have risers to lift up the bottle cage above the pads for it to fit. As far as I remember, I am pretty sure Crowie runs Pro Missile Evo bars on his Shiv. And if the marketing is true, that Crowie tested this Torpedo 400 system on his bike, then I just assume it would fit. But then again, it would not be the first time that athletes get gear custom to them while the public gets a standardized version.

I just installed the new x-lab system on my wife's bike and I have the original torpedo on my bike. The torpedo base on the new one is a "mini base" and is a touch less wide than the original one. It also has 2 sizes of risers that can be combined to lift the bottle around 1.5" if I had to guess, but i didn't measure it. I think with the combination of a smaller base and risers you should be able to get the bottle to sit just above your bars. Overall the system is really nice and a step above the A2, which is what my wife had prior to this. The straw can be a little hard to tuck in the whale tail but overtime I think it will mold better to it.

Ken,

In the same boat here, order on the 17th too. I'm only 10 days out from my IM, so I searched elsewhere and found it at InsideOut Sports yesterday and has already shipped in time for a few test rides this weekend. I canceled my order with Art's.

To be fair to them X-Lab only received them from their manufacture on the 26th I believe, so all the delay is not them. Maybe X-Lab couldn't fill as many first round orders as they thought they could.

Check the twitter feed on the X-Lab website for other places that might have stock.

Sounds like it actually is the solution I have been looking for then! Especially how it handles the straw is nice. I have been working on getting some magnets for my A2 to fix it like the Shiv. Only problem is, that the straw is really not that flexible and I was hoping to find a better system altogether. Looks like xlab finally produced something that is worth looking into :)

What about just buying the bottle and laying it on top of the bars? You can secure it with bands of some sort and since you don't have to take it in and out it won't really matter.

After all your testing, is there one setup that you would suggest someone who is not able to drop coin on testing? Such as, is it safest to do BTA and one zip tied to the saddle? Is putting bottles on the top and down tube not that significant?

I'm on an SC if you want to be overly specific but generalizing is fine.

Hey,

1. The refillable Torpedo System comes with a narrower plate than the standard Torpedo mount. It is also longer. We are gathering a list of the aerobars we have tested on and will be publishing it under the Compatibility section of our website shortly, most likely next week.

2. They are starting to ship in Europe. I know UK dealers just received them in...where are you located? We are assuming a minor inflation, but what we have seen so far, at least in UK, is that the prices are equal to the prices here.

Yep, Crowie did test this system on his bike but he did not have any custom hardware to make it work for him. We put the mount over his stem to make it work. I believe he had 1 set of spacers on there and I can tell you he is riding a narrow setup. The Torpedo System comes with 2 different height of aero spacers. Also you may be thinking if the mount is above the stem it will rattle...we include felt circles to place on your mount to avoid this.

Hey

Yes we had a lot of bottles on the first batch, but the demand was so high we had to limit how many we sold to each retailer so that we could cover a wider geographic area and support the local retailer and be able to send them globally without much delay. If you check out our Facebook page you can see it was a 'all hands on deck' approach to getting these systems out as fast as possible.

If anyone needs assistance finding a system you can give us a call. We are currently generating a report of the stores that have sold out of them and can give you a list that may still have some in stock. Note that our second batch is right around the corner and most retailers who took systems have pre-orders in for the second batch, as well as retailers who missed out on the first batch.
