Hi and thanks for your comments. As I have posted on here we are getting the issues resolved.

For the straw - you are more than welcome to email us and we can get a thinner straw out to you. Just need to confirm the system model with a receipt.

For the slipping forward part we do have some hardware available that can raise the rear screw up more which will help catch the bottle preventing it from launching. Again you can email us and we are more than happy to help you here.

The Garmin 810 is one of the bigger computers, and on our website it is listed under the models that would require a barfly type computer mount in order to use the Torpedo System. You can still keep it up front in your line of sight however with the fact the Torpedo bottle is mounted back.

For the instructions they are available on our website so you can enlarge the photos. If you have any other suggestions on how we can improve them please do let me know. I personally design them and always welcome constructive feedback.

Hopefully we can get you excited about our product which a couple fixes from us :)

No it won't prevent you from using a regular bottle. The screws don't protrude very far...just enough to latch onto the Torpedo bottle...
I read the instructions again. Where does it tell me to install the rear screw so that it protrudes to catch the long groove on the bottom of the bottle? Using the one little black round spacer [washer] in the package (not the aero spacers I presume)? I have the cheaper 100 bottle cage. I also sent you a pm...

The initial batch of Torpedo 100s didn't have a protruding screw, we have this hardware package available. It includes some screws and a spacer and instructions on what to swap out. Just need to send us an email to info@xlab-usa.com with a receipt confirmation of your system and we can send one out to you today. Saw you pm and will respond to that.

So everyone tested the 400 version and no one tried to actually fit in the straw on the 100 mount?

Interesting.

Ha that is completely not what I said. Here it is again.

The Torpedo 100 had been thoroughly tested as was the Torpedo 400 and all of our products...

Please don't try to state things I clearly did not say and are in fact completely false.

Then how come you now have to re-supply people with thin straws if it was tested?
How come you can not use with the most popular mount ever made: Garmin?

I was a split sec from purchasing the 100 model from a uk based dealer when I read about the problems and the solution for US custommers is to write someone and mail proof of purchase. What about EU custommers?

Thin straws are a preference. Thick straws are still technically possible to tuck but can be difficult. Some users won't tuck the straw and this won't be an issue for them.

You do not have to mail proof of purchase. One can take a pic of their receipt and email it to us and we will send these spare parts out.

Good review as my experience is the same....

1. It was hard as hell to get that straw down when I was riding especially at high speed. Straw Length - I think (who the hell knows with the shitty pics) you are supposed to push the straw in and all the way to the back? When I do this the straw is about 2-3 inches too short to my liking, obviously can solve this by pulling it towards the center, just means you cant use all the liquid in the tank.

2. Without the Computer mount the bottle could easily slip forward (See number 3)

3. There was no avaialble adjustment with the computer mount and my Garmin 810 really didnt fit well. It was jammed on and it had to be tilted forward and resting on the bottle. readable in Aero, but hard when upright. But kept the bottle in :)

4. I didnt not have any vibrations, that part seemed to work well for me.

5. Directions and photos - I was able to easily get this product together because I am not an idiot, but the 1 sheeter sucks.

Not sure I would send it back, but not really excited about it....

Somewhat simimlar experience with the 400. The computer mount is just utterly useless - I went back to using a Barfly off the extensions. Everything about the mount is kludgy - but the biggest issue is that it is too narrow for the Garmin mount. Vibration was also an issue for me so the Barfly is back on and that is much better. Bonus, is that I have the 1/4 turn back so I can easily use the 910xt or Edge 510 without having to remove the Garmin mount and change the orientation.

The XLabs bottle is actually pretty good. I like it better than the Torhans, which spills way more (and that is with a sponge stuffed in the top hole) than the XLabs. The main concern I have with the XLabs is that little plug for the alternate straw hole - it pops out all the time. I'll likely just glue it in so it doesn't keep popping out. Poor design though - there needs to be a plug that is much more secure than this thing is. I don't mind the stiffer straw. Yea, its a little awkward tucking down but its not that bad to me. I guess the thinner straw could be of interest if they do it.

FYI : I asked for a replacement straw on Tuesday and received the straw AND replacement screws today. Appreciate the fast service Candice and company. Used the equipment today on a 100 mile race rehearsal with no issues.

Yes the bottle will be available on its own, called the "Torpedo Refill Upgrade Kit", but we haven't started shipping them yet. We are waiting for the 2nd batch to go out, hopefully in the next couple weeks. I will be creating the webpage for this very shortly and be able to list some retailers on there who will have them in stock.

Does that mean I can pre-order? I don't see it on the XLAB website or at Inside Out, TriSports, etc.

Not sure if they are taking preorders but doesn't hurt to ask. Insideoutsports and trisports are your best bets.

recieved the torpedo 100 today and can echo a few sentiments. Firstly, the rear screw to lock the bottle into place is not tall enough to catch the recess underneath the bottle. Secondly, the mount is very narrow- i have a garmin 500 and use the mount kit, and the rubber that goes underneath the black plastic mount is all squished and protuding. Not sure if i trust this mount? it is a wee bit narrow. I have emailed candice for a riser on the rear screw.

Took it out for a ride this am.
One of the better systems I have used, bottle is bigger than I expected.
No slippage with the cage/bottle combo, straw position is excellent.
Visibility of my Garmin is very good (being touch screen helps manipulate over the bottle).
Some slight splashing from the lid but has option for a closed lid.
Looks like its going to stay on for a long time. Love it.

Anyone else had issues with drink splashing out of the bottle? I'm using the fully closed top and I had red gatorade splash out of the lid and also some splashed out from around the straw.
