How do you quickly refill the bottle on a ride? The Xlab bottle seems like it would take forever to squeeze all of the water out. Any tips?

There are 2 lids which are both very easy & quick to refill. There is the slotted lid which remains open. Simply press the bottle into the lid and squeeze. The solid lid is easy to flip open and re-seal after filling up. It takes me about 6 squeezes of a full bottle to empty. I find myself rotating the bottle in my hands so I can continually squeeze the bottle. I use the XLAB Aqua Shots which have a anti-leak nozzle so it is slower for air to fill the bottle before I need to squeeze again, rotating it allows me to squeeze more liquid in while the air fills the bottle.

Hope this answers your question...if not let me know!

Candice,
I just wanted to follow up to say, "Thank you." The warranty department got me a new straw in time for my race. No problems.

Hi Candice,

Just a quick question which may have been asked before on this thread but theres so many pages already. However, I have my aerobars tilted upward a bit which would put most of the liquid towards the rear of the bottle when it's becoming less full. Is it possible to push the straw right to the rear of the bottle without effecting the flow of water coming out of the straw.

Thanks Alex

Hey Alex! Yes the flow will not be affected. The only issue you would notice is that the more you push the straw in, the more the bite valve will move away from you. We do have a longer straw available (not on the website just yet) to help avoid this (plus help be within a more reachable distance of you when you drink). It is 4" longer.

Is it possible til then to pick up some tubing from a hardwear store and use that instead? What's the dimension of the tubing?

Oh you can still buy it, just have to go direct with us vs online spare parts. Give us a call or shoot an email and ask for the 15" long straw and specify which bite valve color.

The Garmin computer is still very stable on the mount even though it looks narrow. If you criss-cross the O-ring bands per the Helpful tips sheet and the rubber mount you are using, you should be good! Let me know if you are still having issues after you try the tape method.

Candice,

After having to finish a race with my Garmin stuffed into my suit after it fell sideways off the narrow mount and lost a rubber band, I decided to re-visit new BTA options. I saw you guys upgraded the computer mount to where it looks like it fits the Garmin mount way better.

Is it possible to trade in my original one for that one? I'm already into your BTA system $150+ at this point.

Hi dangle,

Sorry to hear about the Garmin during the race. Glad that you were able to hold on to it. If you could email our customer service department they will work with you on your question. Their email is info@xlab-usa.com and you will be communicating with Damon. Thanks!

Candice,

I should have actually looked at how (relatively for the bike world) inexpensive the part was before whining online.

Thanks for your continued support to the ST community.

Hi, can someone please advise how far the bottle extends from the notch for the tab at the back of the cage?

It is roughly 1.75" of overhang. Where are you tight on space?

Ah ok. Well I don't know how long your arms are so can't say how close it will be to your hands, but I can tell you the overall length of the system, with the bottle/cage in the furthest rear position it can be in! 11.5 inches long. You can adjust cage position on the mount to help with the fit.

does X-Lab make a little longer Velcro strap? I just completed a fit on my Fuji Tri bike and own a Torpedo 100 set up. For the aero bars to fit comfortably they are spread out a little bit farther than normal. The 4 Velcro straps are about 1" short due to the spacing of the bars. Do they make any that are a little bit longer? Thanks.

Unfortunately know the XTS strap just comes in the one size. Let me talk with Damon as I believe he has helped athletes such as yourself. He may have some ideas we can try!

Great. Thanks for the quick response. I suppose I could go to the local hardware and purchase some longer straps but then your advertising on the nice looking straps wouldn't be there

If you buy the 2nd gen computer mount does it come with new rubber bands?

Sorry, it was a busy day yesterday and I didn't hear back from my guy on a solution. Having said that I believe there was someone here on Slowtwitch that came up with a solution. I can't find their individual post, so I will post the pictures and hopefully they don't mind! Although our lovely XLAB straps aren't in use, the customer did find a way to make the straps longer with some fiddling. I unfortunately cannot say whether they are still using this setup, but could be worth the try!

The rubber bands would have come with your computer. If you don't have any they can often be purchased through the manufacturer, ie the Garmin O-rings. What is included with the 2nd gen computer mount, is the actual computer mount chassis and the hardware required to mount it onto a Torpedo mount or the steerer tube area.

I still have the straps that came with my X-Labs Torpedo, but I prefer to use reusable black zip ties. They're pretty awesome, since I can remove and replace them easily and they're a bit smaller and stealthier than velcro straps.

As an aside, although I chosen to replace straw with a camelpak version & bite valve, I've been very satisfied with the X-labs Torpedo kit and ocassionally use Gorilla cages behind the saddle as well.

Hey - which Trisports version are you referring to?

Kompacts are shipping now and you can currently grab them on sale: http://www.trisports.com/...edo-kompact-100.html
Versas are shipping end of this month to Trisports. They have had a pre-order for a while so you may want to place yours now, if you are interested. Trisports will probably start shipping to customers beginning of March.

Hope this answers your question!
