Here's a couple pics of my recently built IA 10 size 54 with a 54 Qbox. I you can see it sits above the top tube line, so if you want it even I would recommend going down a size from your frame size.

Could be due to the fact that QR frame sizing is smaller that Felt's. QR's is in line with stack height, ie a size 54 QR has 54cm of stack.

A Size 54 Felt IA10 has only 51.3cm of stack. So QR's are a size (or more) down from Felt's.

Nice bike, but probably get more eyes if you put it in the Felt Mafia bike porn thread, not a thread specifically about a different Felt bike (IA)

Did the IA 10 & 16 get a revamp for 2017? It looks like they may have online but I can't find a press release or anything to confirm. Does that sound accurate?

This? http://www.feltbicycles.com/...ia-series/ia-16.aspx

It looks identical to my bike that I bought in March of 2016.

Hi j.shanney -

Would you mind posting a pic of your position on the 54? I'm the same height and was contemplating going the same route as you. Thanks in advance!

I'll see if I can find a few pics when I get home in a few days. I'm out of town for a race.

Awesome, thanks. I hoped the 54 might people a viable option.

Anyone have an issue with the arm pad scratching you? The velcro on the side of the pads are rough. Any ideas to take care of this?

For some odd reason, Felt reverses the orientation of the velcro on the arm pads compared to every other bike. The result is that the hard-edged hook section is on the pad, and if your pad hangs over the edge of the arm rest a little, it cuts into your arm.

The no-brainer fix is to just switch to Cee Gees pads. You both put the velcro back the way it should be. And, you get vastly superior pads.

Completely agree on this! The CeeGees are so much more comfortable, and no more scratching from the velcro! My only issue with the CeeGee pad, is that they caused a reaction with my skin, nice rash and itches like crazy. I resolved it by putting sweatbands (like ones a basketball player might wear on their wrist) on them, and just as comfortable, but no more rash :-)

My daughter in law put a Felt aero bar on her B2, and I bought her Cee Gees, and said 'friends don't let friends use stock Felt pads!'

Besides the thorns in my arms or the fact that I got my chest and stomach the other day getting off the bike, I don't mind the pads. I have CeeGees on my B16 and liked them. Haven't been on the road with them though, may change my tune or get too frustrated with the scratching.

I really did not mind the stock pads, just the velcro scratching. I tried trimming the edges, but to no real improvement. Maybe I should have been more aggressive in the trimming???

The Cee Gees made for a good addition to my Christmas list :-)

Which cee gee pads to go with? There seem to be many different patterns and options. What have you found to be the best fit?

Cheaper to go to Walmart and buy Velcro brand industrial velcro in the craft section. Clean the pad holder good with an alcohol and it will stick well. Cut with utility knife to clean up.

These are the best pics I could find of me riding the bike. They are from Florida 70.3 last year. I have the bike setup pretty much the same now except I swapped out the stock seat for an ISM PN1.1 and the xlab super wing for a turbo wing behind the saddle to bring the bottles in closer. I also race with a Giro Aerohead helmet now.

Hi all, sorry if this question has been covered...
Why is the standover height of the IA series higher than the IAxx series for the same size frame??

Probably because the IAx has a taller head tube to accommodate the integrated front end. (One of the reasons that the IAxx can achieve a more aero lower stack than the IAx.) So, if the head tube is taller for common size, then the top tube and seat tube are taller to match. And this rolls down to standover height.

Super Dave you are my only hope!
The 3T difflock is driving me crazy, or I'm just an idiot, not sure which one.
It seems like no combination of the inner or outer spline gets me the seat angle I want. I am bouncing between flat and a rather steep nose down. Please help me, I'm loosing my mind playing with combinations of twisting the rings.
I know it's probably very simple so everyone point and laugh now.
Or maybe what I think is "rather steep" isn't...

The difflock mechanism in the Felt IA is actually quite simple to adjust to get the saddle level. However, it is not conventional so getting the angle that you need may not seem obvious at first.

You can use the Compass setting on your smart phone which has an angle finder if you swipe to the right. Place a book or clipboard or some flat surface on your saddle. Then using the edge of your phone as the angle finder check the current position.

The mechanism itself has two means for Angle adjustment one larger ring which provides 9.5° of adjustment per spline and the smaller inner surface at the caps threaten to which offers 10° of adjustment per spline.

By rotating the inner and outer splines one "tooth" in opposite directions you get 0.5° of adjustment. This amount is so small it is in perceptible to the human eye and even your digital phone cannot detect .5° increments.

So if you need to make a 3° adjustment, for example. You need to rotate the inner spline with 10° of adjustment six notches or teeth in the direction you want the saddle to move. This will shift the angle 60 degrees. Next you'll need to move the outer spline with 9.5° of adjustment in the opposite rotational direction six notches as well. 6 × 9.5 equals 57°
The difference in rotation will provide the 3° movement that you needed in my example.

This can be illustrated much easier than I can be explained on a slow twitch post, feel free to call me if you'd like me to walk you through the process when you have the parts in hand.

When reattaching the outer saddle clamps be sure you tighten them alternating between left and right making sure you have equal thread engagement. If you tighten one side completely then try to tighten the other side to torque properly there will not be enough thread engagement.
