Storage - Yes Felt is developing these but they are not even close to being ready, too far off to even give a date.


A bit disappointing that it's "not even close to being ready." I would much rather spend my money on specific storage/hydration accessories for the IA, instead of fitting other generic options. While I love my IA and wouldn't trade for anything but an upgraded IA, it seems odd they wouldn't have the options ready by now.

What's the best aerobar for a build? Zipp Vuka Aero, Stealth, or Alpha X?

I have been playing with the idea of super-gluing some M5 "half-round" nuts or square nuts to the back of the seat tube and using short bolts as to not screw into the carbon.

I have to do some expectation management after teasing an upcoming frame box about a month ago. I did design one and had a prototype made:




This first attempt has turned out well enough for me to fit some spares in. However, it is still a bit too flexible, so I keep it secured with ducttape. Also, it is quite expensive to print (north of 150 usd), and it is at the upper bounds of what 3D printing companies accept. Also, this first iteration does not fit perfectly onto the frame. Added that the new IAx have down tube bosses, and that different frame size have different seat tube angles (read: a lot of work to get right), I am hesitant to continue this project and making it available for people to buy.

However, if I get a few people very excited, I may consider spending more time on this. To get this to make sense for me, I'd have to sell these boxes for about 250 USD. For those still interested, send me a pm, and with enough responses I might give it a shot. Though personally, for that price, I would wait it out until Felt comes up with one of their own.

Anyway, I'm here to claim top speed om an IAxx. Since yesterday was a race day and the bike was set up with the Hed3/disc, I headed for "the hill" with my Giro A2 and regular bike clothes. The hill starts out shallow then drops off. I came over the shallow part at 34. By the time I sat up for the "S" curves I hit 53.4 mph.

A small side wind hit me at around 45 but it wasn't bad and it was smooth sailing the rest of the way down.
