can't wait either!

Is there anyone going up from NYC Sunday morning or possibly Saturday afternoon that has some extra space on the rack and a seat in the car? I will pay for gas and pump your tires in transition!

Mirage Sportsbook has ML baby bump protruding further than the Race Director’s baby bump. Hold all tickets!! To be reconciled in a few days!

As a proud 8AM participant (read: lowly CWD) in the annual Mohonk chucklefest the last four years, I’m hoping at the 759 AM line up the RD will again call out the trolls that backdoored (pun intended) their way into CWD when they chose to power down a box of Twinkies in February in lieu of a three hour trainer ride….and then feign injury or polar vortex related cr*p to assuage their OCD/ADHD missteps.

In the stack ranking of single celled organisms that can reproduce asexually…..CWD’ers that own it and sign up in August are a higher life form than roll backs that join the 8AM line up of shame on Sunday morning.

That’s right. To the back of the line bitches!

LOLZ! That's awesome!
I've never been around to see that - looking forward to seeing folks take the Relegation Of Shame prior to the start.

Kdw is a gimp, he can't run anymore.
He'd probably put a hurtin on the CWD bike course record if he could make it thru the first run...

I'm already in 3rd, and that was with the whole "pacing myself to do another bike AND run lap" after you were done.

(Speaking of which - I virtually beat you and won CWD that year with a 2:43, while going on to take 2nd in GCG.)

Well then I guess there's only one thing left to do.

What's that?

KOM the whole f*cking thing.

I had a couple of running injuries a couple of years back so I evolved to cycling only...now I only swim if I fall out of a boat and run as a last resort...

If I decide to show up yes will be leaving NYC early Sunday

But reality: ran Boston which was my first marathon. And have gained 8 pounds since one 20 mile bike ride since September zero trail runs since December

Chances that I can even hobble thru cwd?

Sorry to hear that you cannot run any more. Still the fastest way to get a workout in. Even more sorry that you won't show up. We'll miss you.

Not sure about this cycling thing. Looks rough. And I don't like crashing. Maybe on a beach cruiser in Hawaii :-)

You can totally hobble thru CWD!!!
*Everybody* runs the whole first run - it's not that bad on fresh legs.
And not overly technical.

The first climb on the bike is tough, but you're still reasonably fresh and warmed up from the run.
Then you get a ripping descent to recover, followed by some rolling sections.
Then it's a long, stair-stepped climb that's broken up by some short descents. Once you top out at the Awosting entrance past Minnewaska, it's net-downhill the majority of the remainder.
You just hafta suck it up for the last climb - and then yer off the bike.

2nd run - run where you can, "power-hike" the steeper climbs, and enjoy being in some beautiful country.

Then beer, food, and heckling F1 and LC racers at the Pavillion.
And you may even win a Big Honkin Stein!

Don't you know how to use a flat head screw driver so you can use one of the storage bins that use the bosses on the top tube? Those straps are creating an extra 0.001 grams of drag which is gonna cost you the course record!

Nah, those are boundary trip lines - they make the bike even faster!!
Just like dimples on wheels.
That's why I don't shave my legs either - more aero goodness!
I'm giving away all my secrets here, I'd better can it.

"If I decide to show up yes will be leaving NYC early Sunday"

That's what....about a 2 hour commute at that hour of day? I'm driving 8+ to not race. That's the kind of Bat Signal this gig sends out. Guys like ML and yoda need all the heckle they can get (yoda even moreso since he's carrying my LC torch this year).
Maybe I'll be lucky enough to ride a loop of the bike course on Saturday just so I remember how great the suffering is.

It's American Zofingen. You can put up or shut up, just don't not show up.

(damn hammy.....why have your forsaken my toeing the start line????)

Of course you can! Sounds like your training is a few orders of magnitude better than most people on this thread. Myself, I've spent the last week feeling sorry for myself at the thought of the impending suffering (self-medicating with chocolate though, so there's always that).

When do we leave? ;-)

It's *possible* they've had some more late cancellations.

I only got in a few weeks ago myself.
(And it wasn't even by begging the RD - although I went that route too, just to be safe ;-)

I just checked - website says 8 slots are open!!!!
http://www.cm2promotions.com/home

Call Joi at 845-339-5987 ASAP.

Get busy, TriGirrrrl.

If there are no offers from NYC locals and you can somehow get yourself to Greenwich CT on Saturday I'll be leaving from there and have space.

Caveat: I'm from Australia and have a tendency to drive on the left side of the road while listening to my Men at Work Classic Hits tape.

ITT was cancelled due to insufficient registrations.
Not worth the extra effort for whatever limited # of people had signed up for it, so they nixed it.

Apparently a lot of folks are pulling up lame, and are not even Canadian Womens enough to race SC.
But at least they let the RD know - so they are now able to open up those slots to other folks who actually will show up.

Aka - the anti-M.Dot way of doing things.
