Is it too early to ask what time we start this year? LC at 7am and CWD at 8am?

I can't believe another AZ is upon us. Time for the annual moment of realization of "oh *!!#$%, I better email the RD and switch to the CWD, because there is no way I am ready to suffer any more than 2 run loops and one bike."
My offseason plan seems to have inadvertently included a lot of tapering, so I am ready to tackle some more.
Friday looks like it could be quite a soaker, but the weekend weather is looking good so far. (Damn did I just jinx everybody?)

Yes, taper, how I loathe thee; you make me feel like balls. I took off yesterday, and "almost" feel like doing my 90 minute ride/run tonight. I've done the course twice in regular road shoes, but this year I've got some nice (flaming ORANGE!!!) Cascadias all quick-laced and shit. I'm thinking the extra weight of the trail shoe will add 2.19 seconds per mile, but the added traction will save 2.22 seconds per mile, so it should come out to the good. Just hope I did the math right.
F'n taper...uhhhgggg. I'm more tired now than at peak of training, which I think was last week??!!
I will have my big honkin' Hoka's...only thing that has saved my plantar from sidelining me for months...they are like monster truck tires...or just plain clown shoes.
And wouldn't you know...packet pickup instructions just hit the inbox...rut row.

I think is time to start training

Yup. My liver's getting a consistent 3 for a PB (tm) daily workout this week, to train for the après race festivities.
I've got just 3 words for all you people:
Bring it.

rut row, I haven't received any official races notices lately (!?) I do still have the email confirming my entry back from last August and my email address hasn't changed...
Would you mind posting the pick-up and Sunday AM details here?

As you wish:
American Zofingen 2014

Spring Farm Pavilion
Times: 2-5pm Saturday or 6-7am Sunday
Directions: Coming from New Paltz
Take Rt. 299 West, which turns into Main Street, New Paltz, once
through New Paltz go 1.75 miles West to a 4-way intersection.
Make a right onto Butterville Road. Travel 1 mile.
Make a left on Mountain Rest Road. Travel to top.
At the top you will see the entrance to Mohonk Mountain House on
your left, keep going straight ahead. As you do, you will be going back
down the mountain.
At the bottom you will see a sign for Mohonk Preserve and Spring
Farm Parking. Turn in here.
Spring Farm | Upper 27 Knolls Road
Edited to add: And, I'm about 99.999% sure that LC starts at 7am, GCG F1 at 7:30, and CWD at 8am.
So - plan on arriving between 6 and 6:30-ish, but by no later than 7.

looks like the current forecast has heavy rain on Friday, but dry 'n clear for the rest of the weekend and Sunday high temp of 70. I can live with some swampy trails in exchange for dry roads and not biking in the middle of a cloud.

Looks like I still have a few more days of rain dancing and cloud seeding to do.

My P3 is a very similar color scheme- there's a good chance I will mistake the two in transition and take yours onto the course. Beautiful ride! A jet black front wheel would do it justice.

@bl - I use crappy mtb-compatable pedals, to prevent just such an occurrence. Would be entertaining watching you try to clip in.

Only a 1:27 bike split? You know you only have to ride the loop once for the CWD, right?

Now - Josh Beck can bust out 3 laps at 1:24/per, but I know Josh Beck, and ML is no Josh Beck.

Maybe if you used your road bike you'd have a shot at the record...

ML, how's that rain dance coming along? It looks like there's rain forecast for Monday, all you need to do is hurry it along.
The only chance I have this year of getting a stein, big honk'n or otherwise, is if others with less insulation than me wimp out in the cold and wet.

My tri bike doesn't have adequate "power transfer", nor is it "laterally stiff yet vertically compliant" enough for a record-breaking performance.
