It looks like Pog has pulled the plug on a Vuelta start, so this might be a Giro again contender wise. Thankfully there is this young neo-pro I heard is riding who has some talent. This kid Valverde.

Who knows what his training/racing looks like while recovering from two broken vertebrae.

Regarding Roglic, I saw this.
Merijn Zeeman about Roglič: "Primož sat on his bicycle, crying in pain. In the evening Grischa Niermann and I went to his room and said: 'This can't go on like this anymore. You're destroying yourself. We'll get you out.'

Ouch, I had no idea it was that bad.

Damn, dude is tough as nails...
I know there was a meme about the following, but it's worth repeating. We have pro cyclists on one end of the spectrum, riding with broken bones and popping joints back into sockets; and then on the opposite end of the spectrum, there's the ilks of Neymar Jr., pretending to have been fouled while playing an exhibition pre-season match by sending himself tumbling...

Damn, dude is tough as nails...I think Phillipa York owes him an apology after she drove a bus over him and J-V, speculating that it was all about prioritizing the Vuelta when she apparently hadn't done any due diligence to determine the extent of his injuries.
I generally like Phillipa's work, but sometimes she takes things to weird, unnecessary places.

Was there anything posted any where about which vertebrae were broken and how badly?
I know Daniel Oss had two cervicals broken and was/is in a neck brace

He was ATTACKING Pog in that condition. That's insanity. I wish we get one Tour with Roglic in full condition, because he's such a standup guy. He deserves it

Rog must be the toughest guy in peloton, these stories are crazy.
He and Pog seem like two generally nice, solid dudes.

I think the fans are going to high five Venga's arm right off. Congrats to the Danes. They put on a great show and the fans are once again out in full sport for their countrymen.

To be fair, she was equally at fault. Her head is clearly F'd right now and whoever is in her ear is not thinking much better either.
Yeah though, just a horror show for Mavi and unfortunately it is a bit expected from her on a stage like this.

Despite herself though. She was strong as hell in that race, but burned a ton of energy with sketchy handling.
Quit edit: Even today, she shows how freaking strong she is to even remotely be around up until the car crash. I just thinking she loses a lot of time and energy with descending, positioning and overall handling.

Lotto's season is getting more grim. De Lie had a bad fall on the pave and was screaming in pain while holding his leg.

The Danes are great.
(Crickets......)
I'm a Mavi fan now. All that and never dropped her head or threw a hissy fit. I think the team car could've backed away earlier. No need at that point to be that close.

It is insane what these people push through to be at the pointy end here. Mavi has a huge engine. If I had those issues and touched the ground in that manner I'd be too mentally fried to even finish. Cyclists are just FN hard.

No need at that point to be that close. After having watched all the behind-the-scenes documentaries from Flanders, I tend to think the drivers often try to do way too much, often on the radios, watching the Veloviewer screen, reaching back to queue up bottles, etc. I tend to think the driver should do nothing but drive. And the DS in the passenger seat should do everything else.
I guess the one exception is when the rider has to come up to the driver side, which can happen for various reasons.
