general reply to thread......good lord...WVA in triple Beast Mode....after smashing it for 2.5 weeks....not sure what, if anything there is to say..... "one eye doubles my eyesight, so things don't look half bad" John Hiatt
Thanks to Ant McCrossan, I'm gonna have to start working "Not impressed" into conversation instead of "Fucking pissed" "What's your claim?" - Ben Gravy "Your best work is the work you're excited about" - Rick Rubin
Does he have enough in the tank to sit up & help Venga if needed? Would J/V make a strategy call like that? "What's your claim?" - Ben Gravy "Your best work is the work you're excited about" - Rick Rubin
Both of these guys, really. It’s impressive to see the level of respect they have for each other.
I think both are class acts. That said it is an unwritten rule that you do not attack in that situation. Do you remember the Andy Schleck TDF incident where he did not wait up? That one blew up all over the place. However both of these guys seem to be decent and respectful of each other.

It sure looked like Pogacar hit the gas when he saw that Vingegaard had a wobble. Which is totally legit racing.
But Venga waiting was also self-serving. It made Pogacar go back to the front and effectively neutralized a sketchy descent. Both of which are good for keeping a yellow jersey.
It was definitely a classy move to ask him if he was okay. Sitting up and waiting was just smart racing. No need to go solo when you have teammates coming up from behind. Also Pogo hasn't shown he can shake him, so there's not much of a need to try and hit the base of the climb with a gap. Plus I think there's a little mind game there - like Jonas saying I'm worried so little about you beating me that I'm going to wait and let you catch up and we'll battle it out on the last climb.
I think the fat lady has sung for Tamau.... Vinga is definitely holding tight to the yellow and not giving an inch. Pogacar is running out of runway and I can't see him pulling back much time today.
