Weird attack by Pogacar.

Oh man, Bam Bam is making this descent nerve wracking.

McNulty spit him out the back on the penultimate climb. He was one of the last to get dropped, though, around the time of Quintana.

This is a great Prize Fight.

McNulty did yeoman's work with Soler and Majka going out. Thinking/hoping this gives Sepp a bit of respite for tomorrow.

As an aside, Bahrain wins the invisible jersey for Most Inconspicuous of the Tour.

I don't know. Astana has some hope still on that one. Though I suppose Lutsenko is doing just enough to remind people that Astana exists.

It's great that Peacock w/Ant & Nico stayed on until Jakobsen crossed the line with just seconds to spare to make the cutoff

Caleb is still on top [?] of the Anti-Podium of Upside Down

I was thinking about this while running this morning, crossing the RR tracks just after the NJ Transit train went by and I saw the taillight in the distance: they can't very well have a Lanterne Rouge jersey, but how about a black bib with a red number signifying "Hey! I'm LAST in GC!!!"

Astana is a mess.
Bam Bam came up huge.
I don't know how they even throw a leg over tomorrow. These guys are cooked.
G Thomas has been so good. He looked like he was photoshopped into the pics of the leaders on the climbs. Just kept hanging onto the group.

On a similar tangent, Dan Jones from the Social Distance Podcast is giving out shirts and awards all Tour. Either "Great Rider, Shit Bloke" or "Shit Rider, Great Bloke." I believe there also might be "Shit Rider, Shit Bloke" coming.

Sounds like there should be something like the Crazy/Hot matrix in the works?

X Axis: Shit Rider > Great Rider
Y Axis: Shit Bloke > Great Bloke

Jakobsen racing the cutoff to within 15 seconds was brutal to watch. Even if he makes it to Paris, how much can he have after that effort?

And he's got to do it again tomorrow.

Just looking at tomorrow’s profile makes me tired.

Jakobsen has grinta for days. And hopefully enough for one more.

The grupetto is going to be brutal.

Not that it matters because Movistar is irrelevant, but Erviti is positive today and is out. Which is remarkable as he has been racing Grand Tours since '06 and this is his 2nd DNF.

4000+ meters climbing in the final 140 k. Should be a party in the mountains.

Nairoman with a 20 minute breakaway taking the Yellow and le Tour!

It will be interesting to see what costs occurred from the effort of UAE (or any of the contenders) yesterday. McNulty and Bjerg were out of this world. I hope UAE and JV (Kusstanza is going to be important) recover completely and we get a good honest race today.

This looks to be mano a mano today. If Bam Bam can do half of what he did yesterday that will be big. The Alien won't be there at crunch time but should be up the road. Sepp should be around. GT will be interesting to watch. Ineos has been solid, he's had a great ride.
Given the shaky admin of Astana and the shaky nature and numbers game of the WT anyway, this could be Joe D's last big mountain race. Hope not but working in the WT is like being in a tech start up every.....stinking......year. Zero job security except at the top. I hope he has some legs but it's been pretty brutal.
Aaaaand, the green monster is off the front.
