Definitely WTF. I would take a 50/50 shot as 1st any day compared to that boneheaded finish.

Though after Strade Bianche, I can understand her being "over" dragging other people to the finish line. But it would have made a ton more sense if she'd had a Trek teammate contending for the clean-up-the-mess sprint, which she did not.

It's even weirder, b/c she kept pulling at Gent, despite receiving no help.

Niwiedoma was at least willing to split the pulls, and she says no. Oh well.

Strong ride by Yates, and pretty solid from Sivakov.

Yep. Yates looked awesome to make those attacks repeatedly.

On an unrelated note now that WvA is taking a small break, I thought it was interesting to look at his race year. 21 total race days, 7 of which he won and 5 podium placings.

La Flèche Wallonne

Roglic, Pogacar, Pidcock
Schachmann, Woods

Gambling on the GC guys, here. Alaphillipe has seemed a bit off the past couple of races. D. Martin is in the Alps. Valverde is old. We just haven't seen much from Fuglsang or Lutsenko. Hirschi is an enigma so far. EF has been mostly missing in action all spring.

Pretty much agree with your assessment on GC riders taking this. LFF has looked off this year, but maybe he's being cagey. Sorry to copy most of your picks!

Rog, Pog, Piddock
Woods, Valverde

Looks like we are starting to get some strong riding from the GC boys in the Tour of the Alps. The crazy thing is that these guys we getting smoked even recently by team Slovenia.

Stage 2. PILLERHĂ–HE (first 7.16 km, 9.76 %, 699 m,) S.Yates 22:40, 18.95 Kph, VAM 1850 m/h, 6.45 W/kg (est. "58 kg") Carthy, Sivakov, N.Quintana 23:10, 18.54 Kph, VAM 1810 m/h, 6.20 W/kg (est. "65 kg")

Giro and TdF. TdF for stage wins (according to him).

Edit: The Cosnefroy picks have my FOMO fired up. I agree he's promising.

We know Cosnefroy actually. Through an intermediary this is a build period, but like all things sport athletes are full of it! Except American sports maybe, but not American cyclists anyway.

I sure hope Woods wins, My coach has worked or does work with a good portion of decent pro tour riders. Everyone does 6+ a kilo now for 20. Woods is one of those guys huge 4-5 hours and is NOT dropping huge power at the end. Like huge watts per kilo late in races. He deserves that big win.

Fleche Wallonne is basically tailor made for Woods, he really should win at some point. Heck, he should have won already but has made some tactical errors or been poorly positioned at the finale.

Turning to this thread for an assist: aside from Meredith Miller, anyone have suggestions of other Us women TV broadcasters/presenters?

You mean women who are active in TV broadcasts, or just ideas for women who might be good at it?

Either/both. I can’t think of any women other than Meredith. We have a dude presenter lined up, just looking for partner.

I have no idea if they'd be interested, but the two off the top of my head who have the knowledge and people skills are Amber Pierce and Janel Spilker.

Hannah Walker is awesome too.

Speaking of commentators, I'm VPNing to get a Chris Horner feed. He can't pronounce most names and its hilarious, but his actual knowledge of WTF is going on is the best by a long shot. He is a lot of fun.
