So what are the odds of this - I racked my bike the day before WF long course. Right next to me is the same bike - same white & black, ultegra version.
Damn cool. BTW, there were a lot of BMC's at WF. Good to see.
Unfortunately that disc and Hed 60 up front were a liability on race day. It was incredibly windy; just solid, consistent wind all day. Descending was terrifying.
Did it in 2:53; average time is typically 2:40.
Lesson learned - bring a less aero wheelset as a back up.

My new BMC TM01

ENVE 6.7 Clinchers
ENVE SES TT Aero Bar
Cobb JOF 55 Saddle
Still dialing in the fit, but pretty damn happy thus far

Here she is, finally dialed in how I want her.
Unfortunately though, when I swapped out the Wheels from Enve 8.9 tubulars to 6.7 clinchers with a Powertap hub, the guy who sold me the new wheels failed to mention some damage and there's a small deformity and hairline crack on the wheels from where he must have slammed into a pothole or something which causes some annoying brake pulsing. I don't think it's causing serious harm but I worry a bit about the integrity of the wheels. I guess that's what I get for thinking I was getting such a great deal for those wheels at 1600 for the set. And since it's not the original owner I don't think I can take advantage of the Enve crash replacement program... although I would in a second to get things back to safety spec (If there's any lovely Enve reps out there reading!)
Other than that... love it and trying to great care of the ride!

Hello,
After fiddling a while with the rear brake on my TM02, I decided to go with the Avid Shorty brakeshoe.
I wanted to use only the brake pad holder and the first rounded spacer. However the length of the threaded component provided with the Avid brake is too long to tighten and the orginal BMC part doesnt fit in the holder because of its rounded shape.
How did you guys assemble the avid Shorty as a rear brake on the timemachine? Which parts did you use?
Thanks,
David

The only part I used was the shoe, is that what you mean?

Does anyone have some front end spacers they aren't using? I want to mess with my fit a bit, but when I got the bike it didn't come with anything extra.

Apologies in advance if this has already been covered in the thread, but has anyone run Conti Grand Prix 4000iis or Grand Prix TT tires in size 700-25 on their TM01 without any issue rubbing? I've been using 700-23 exclusively but want to know if the fatter tires fit in event of a long course triathlon on chip seal roads. Thanks!

Are you using 25s front and back? Can you feel any difference from 23s?
Re: Official BMC Time Machine Owners Thread [HuffNPuff]

Yes, front and back.
I have the Conti 25s on my training wheels (Zipp 404 front and 808 back.....these are my racing wheels for my roadie) and Turbo Cotton 24s on my racing wheels (808 front and Super 9 rear).
I *think* the 25's feel smoother than 23's (of course, latex tubes feel smoother again and I would say makes more of a difference both for feel and CRR) .

Sorry for the change of subject.
Having a problem with my front drop out. All of a sudden my 404 rubs the top of the wheel well. It never did this before. Not sure how or why it's happening. Any advice out there?

Your tire has grown (stretched out) over time. They get wider and taller as they age due to stretching.

Hi All,
I have a TM02. Just wondering if anyone knows if it fits on the Tacx Neo? This is the model I have. Thank you.

Figure I'll show my rig before it is either sold or transformed into a road bike.
Absolutely love the ride but have no use for it anymore.
Here it is before Steelhead 2016.
I've paired TMRxx vs TMxx geometry in CAD and should have a good idea of what I'll need to make it road bike worthy. I'll post up final pictures after Frankenstein is complete.

Have to say I rarely see my frame color scheme on any other TMs, nice even though you're getting rid of it :) Actually I think I saw one two weeks ago whizzing by (I was going up, he was going down), that looked like it was built as a road bike, but never confirmed.

I have to say that if I do sell it, I will have a harder time parting with the color scheme more than anything else.
It is quite rare to see it at any race. Surprised you spotted one out riding around!

I have the same color and love it. After doing some searching around for a new road bike, I noticed that bmc made a tmr01 in the same color scheme as the 2014 bmc tm02. Might be possible that the person did convert it but also might have been that tmr01. Think it's a 2013 model.
