Looks like half-way through the bike: Lionel is 2nd and Joe is 3rd (who came out 10 seconds back from Lionel and in last place on the tracker)

Although for some reason Sam isn't in the tracker?

WOW, Joe Skipper really going after it. Kanute holding everyone off, can he keep the lead into T2?
They are not gaining as fast now
But man those split all with 1-2 seconds between them, wonder if the draft distance is held.

Guess it is all about getting a gap on Matt now

Through 28mi on the bike, of the top 10 men, Sam L seems to have the fastest pace. But he has a lot of ground to make up after a not so good swim

Let's see how they do going against the north wind for the second half of the bike.

Over in the women's race, we've got 50 year old Dede Griesbauer riding in 3rd at mile 28. She will fall back some on the run, but still. Whoooo!

Wow 50 that is insane! And in third how is that even possible in a rather stacked field?!

This will be key and likely we'll see bigger gaps appear as the stronger bikers push into the headwind.

Things couldn't be going better for LS right now. Ben is a great runner but I think he's been riding quite hard whereas Lionel is likely riding his normal effort. Ben I think will have to have a great race to be able to run with him after such a hard bike effort.

Sam looks to have had a sub-par swim even for him. I wonder what happened. He'll keep moving up though. Still a podium threat.

Matt Hanson is in great position too for his astonishing run capabilities. But he'll have to put like 1:20 to 1:30 into Lionel to win. That's a big ask

Edit: actually matt is only 20 seconds behind Lionel and riding faster than Kanute. He is totally still in this race for the win.

Hanson usually doesn't over bike like so many others. Hopefully this is no different

Guess I was wrong about Sam swimming himself out of the race....

Hanson probably losing too much time into the wind now

Looks like Sam is within 20 seconds of Sanders. Are they at the front of the race, anyone ahead of them?
Would be so great to have live coverage to see them battle on the run!
