Maybe we should do a sort of final 4 vote, or more if others feel that some place is left out that most might like.
I think the pros and cons of each place has been hashed out enough, and we are all world travelers who know what we like, so lets keep the ball rolling:
So we have:
1. Denver
2. Chicago
3. Kansas City
4. Xantusia (Valyermo, LA county)
Any others we should give a shout out to?? So maybe pick your top 2 in order of your desire..Here's mine;
1. Xantusia
2. Denver
Then we can start throwing around some dates, which of course won't work for everyone, but with these types of things, nothing is ever going to be 100%..Actually be lucky to be 60%, I know, I have been doing this same exact thing for the Womens since 2005. But hey, if they can do it, we should be able to come up with some master compromise that suits the majority..Oh wait, this is the Lavender room, strike that..Lets go for 40%...
Out of the current crop I’d vote:
1. KC
2. Chicago
However, I will toss a dark horse out there. I joked early in the thread, but I reality I think Lake of the Ozarks would be pretty great.
-It’s generally regarded as one of the top 5 recreational lakes in the country
-centrally located. Like literally center mass of the USA
- something for everyone. Boating, skiing, swimming, golf, hiking, etc.
-socially diverse. You can take in on one boat ride “rustic” old school Ozark establishments and zima swilling hoity toity swim up infinity pool bar joints. And everything in between.
- water and boats. Rafting up and coving out is the best way to hang out with and get to know a group of people I’ve ever seen.
- a million different lodging options. Depending on the size of the group an 8bd 10ba house, multiple condos, resorts style hotel, cabin in the woods complete with 4 toothed hillbily neighbor. It’s all available.
-I have two spare bedrooms, two boats and a wave runner to donate to the cause. Although I probably won’t let any of you people drive the boats unsupervised, other than Slowguy, since he’s a pro.
Anyway, thought I’d pitch it for real at least. Best done June-end of September when the water is still warm.
