Yup I was just about to say that Dave can handle the ST updates for YellowJacket Racing.

Having seen photos of him I'm confident he is efficient with one hand.

Maybe one of you guys can tote Dave around on this--
http://ithaca.craigslist.org/bik/1739973923.html

Dave (heal up!), you could totally ride that one-armed and type away on an iPad at the same time -- give updates throughout the course and even provide some heart-felt, kind words of encouragement.
(I am not volunteering for said toting-duty though. And no, that is not my CL ad.)

Tetsuoni, don't tempt me with the pink tutu. Seriously.

I have just finished mapquesting so that we can hit the one and only Cracker Barrel in NY state on our way there. That is my only goal for this trip..... hit a Cracker Barrel so that I can feel skinny :)

Williamsville NY for lunch today!!!

Over and out. Safe trips everyone!

Appropos of nothing, there is a Cracker Barrel "restaurant" less than a half mile from my office. (Which btw is in NY state. Canada doesn't have Google?)
I have only been there 2x, once for dinner, once for a breakfast meeting.
There were exactly ZERO thin people there.

As I am attempting to be extremely non productive at the office today and I have a cracker barrel [along with about every other imaginable chain restarant] near my house which is not in Williamsvile I checked. Turns out there are 8 of them in NY. I have never been to any of them. I was in one down south once. IIRC they sell furniture and pot pie but have no bar. Seems, well, unamerican to me.

Although I am planning on bringing a host of attire, do you all think arm warmers, tri top, and shorts are warm enough to start the race. I only raced in New Paltz once in Sept and I raced with just a tri top and shorts and I was fine. I'm just worried that it might not be enough for the beginning of the ride?

I certainly hope that at a little after 9 when I get on my bike that arm warmers will be enough. I will certainly have knee warmers, gloves, jacket and vest ready and avialable. But then I hate being cold on the bike.

I will be going off at 7:30 so I a bit concerned that it might still be pretty cold.

I'm starting at 7:30 too, but figure it'll be at least 8:30 before I start the first descent, given the run, transition, and first climb. I'm going to run in just tri shorts and top, but leave the arm warmers in T1 just in case. I figure I might be cold on the first drop, but that with the sun out things will warm up pretty quick.

Given the forecast, arm warmers will likely be plenty (if needed at all).

I'm going off :30 behind the LC crew, so it won't be dramatically different by then; I think that maybe full-finger gloves for the 1st lap of the bike might be nice, but otherwise it'll be tri top and shorts (and my kick-ass compression socks, natch.)

I'll bring vest, toe booties, etc etc along with me, just to have 'em there - but I'm thinking more and more that they will likely be unneeded on the day.

If it was just a ride, in those temps, then I'd probably wear a bit more. But we'll have a pleasant 3x:xx minute warm-up run, and then a nice climb to start off on the bike, so we certainly won't be 'cold' going into the first big descent.

The thing I am most concerned with at this point is that the latex tube I intended to put in my rear wheel got punctured and now [as no local shops carry latex tubes] I will be running a latex tube in the from and a butyl in the rear. Will the frame be torn in half due to the front wheel going so much faster than the rear? I guess I could switch them but then I would run the risk of the bike imploding or somehow having the rear pass the front. Either way I think this could be bad ;-)

Wow, what a dilemma, I would shitcan the tubes and tires and just ride the rims. You will smoke it, trust me.

You'll be taller by the end of the bike ride! Butyl in back and latex up front!

You do realize that you can fix 'em latex tubes right?

The question of who is right and who is wrong has seemed to me always too small to be worth a moment's thought, while the question of what is right and what is wrong has seemed all-important.

I anxiously await the comedic stylings of Dave Roche on Sunday (after the fact, of course, since I'll be otherwise occupied for about 5 hours or so).

In the meantime, enjoy spending some time with The Stranger. Is that considered cheating? (on yourself)
