Errr Olympics. World Cup Soccer. America's cup.

Nearly all sport is rooting for nation against nation.

That's one of the things I loved about triathlons (outside of the Olympic race), because people cheered for athletes without thought to their country. It's a shame that some people can't get away from that and just appreciate the athletes without caring where they were born.

Welchie is a bit of a homer. For the amount of time he has spoken about McKenzie, you'd swear he won.

If I was racing at Kona and they called me a girl several times on a national broadcast, I'd not be offended. And I'm a dude.

Nice :)

I know nothing about the culture of the female pros calling each other "girls". If that's the case, and they're totally cool with the guys doing that, well, I just feel like an asshole for making such a stink about it.

It struck me as disrespectful, but what the hell do I know.

If people are passionate about sport, it's good for business.

If Rinny can keep running a 2:50 marathon, she can keep winning these over and over. No one can touch that run speed.

Rinny is amazing on so many levels. She could not be Chrissy in any of them.

Women's champ has a faster run split than the men's champ. Third fastest run so far.

What are the light blue patches on some of the athlete's shoulders? Assuming it is an advert but can't read it.

Mirinda ran a marathon about 16% off the pace of the best women runners in the world (excluding Paula Radcliff's WR). That would be the equivalent of a man running a 2:35 or 2:36 at Kona. 4:20-25 bike splits are amazing, but a truly fast marathon, that's what's next for the men ...

Nicotine patches.

It's a mass decision by the ladies (<--word specifically chosen for Push and JenSW) to give up smoking.

Don't be surprised if a certain Kyle Buckingham in M30-34 ends up very high in the OA.

I called it! 16th overall in 8:37, which I imagine is an AG record for Kona.
