Starkly is only 10 sec behind Luke. Kienle is within a minute and is not really fading.... Just find make a big move. As has been said, he's not racing Starky and Luke as much as he's racing the better runners behind him.

I don't know how Starky is going to avoid a run blow-up.

Would it be bad form to take bets on when it will happen?

If Kienle stays this close, Starky won't get the record anyways, so it won't matter as much to finish if he blows...

Ok starky had a dig and is back in the lead. Nice slingshot off the camera car too. This is what i mean when i talk about leaders getting their own drafts outside of legal 10m riding. Everytime you see some side shot from the front it is obvious something is out there filming in a perfect draft position. Then right there where starky got to ride behind a car for 10 seconds and do a slingshot, that puts 10 to 15 seconds into a guy like jordan or anyone else that is riding into the wind alone. those things add up, but of course they are not given to you, you do have to ride in camera position. Keinle is the one getting screwed now, probably does not have a camera on him right now and these little pulls for the two front runners are going to hurt him time wise. Good thing he is probably not to worried about those guys exactly, but now the guys behind will limit their losses on him..

Think it will be ok for you to give a mile # as long as you take a shot of whiskey for every mile you are off. You still have to keep going with the whisky for girls program as well.

you do realize this is very typical strategy for Starky right? not that he can't still blow up... but also not like this is some super human effort from him or a crazy strategy that he hasn't practiced before

Very valid point....you rarely see side shots in a cycling TT for this exact reason, and when you do, it is for very brief periods.

No, I'm completely talking out of my ass.

He just looks like he's getting spent. He's an amazing rider. I just don't know how he's gonna run afterwards.

I would love to see a strong run after such an impressive ride. Really.

This makes a lot of sense, but I wouldn't have thought of it without your post. Thanks.
