yup I doubt it's out of his comfort zone. He won't run "fast" compared to the cheetahs out there no matter what, but hopefully still run "fast for him". His strategy is blast swim/bike, then run with whatever is/isn't left over!

He's definitely making it fun to watch :)

Pete is back there around 8+ minutes i believe. Like i said, he is going to need his 2;40 run today, 2;48 is not going to get it with the guys in front of him...

Both bike leaders will drop out somewhere between begin of run and mile 6.

Just sayin...

Kienle takes it out too hard.
Right now I would be surprised if he podiums.
Pleasantly surprised by Al-Sultan.
He used to be a strong runner too.

Has anyone done the math to see what pace they are on? I don't know exactly where they are at and what the conditions are, but seems like it has been fast, is the record in danger??

From the feed:

The wind is starting to pick up out on the course, but it's only at about 20 miles per hour, which isn't much for this island.

It looks to me like the course record is in danger. Looks like Luke and Starky will likely come in close to 4:15. Wonder if they realize that? Could make for an interesting end of the bike sprint!

Do you think he trained much on his new Boardman Air TTE? I think it would be tough to race on a bike I wasn't really, really used to.

Wolfgang was the first to ride like that, and he too was almost always on the front. Looks like all the little groups behind are no more and it is every man for himself. Pete must be over 10 minutes behind now too. There are going to be a couple guys that run well from 15th to 25th off the bike and get into the money today. Just have a feeling that many got cooked out there today.

You left out one thing though, keinle is ahead of both of them at the moment by two minutes, so it will be a worthless sprint unless they can put a bunch more time into him. If they are on 4;15 then keinle is on 4;13..
