I'm at 91 thru the 13th, should pass 100 tomorrow. FM, you are a modern day Ulysses, standing on the bow of your ship shaking your fist at the Great God of Injuries.

145 miles of biking so far as well.

I'm half french half aussie, so I'm not shaking my fist at the Great God of Injuries, one hand is waving a white flag and the other is flipping the finger ;-)

52.5 for week 2 through tuesday.

That makes 105 total. Hey, I'm consistent :)

Thsi week is supposed to be slightly reduced mileage and I'm trying to figure out how the hell I'm going to run whilst travelling for thanksgiving so my consistency is under threat going forwards. Grrrr!

Forest Gump Wannabes,

Cough up yer numbers for November's 2nd week (Wed 11/8 to Tues 11/14).

There was some confusion earlier this week on what constitutes a running week. It's Wednesday to Tuesday. So folks who gave me their numbers from Monday to Sunday or whatever, could you PM me with your updated numbers?

Also if I've got your first week wrong, please feel free to correct me.

Thanks

(I sucked ass last week: 26 mi. All I'm doing is running, and I can't even break the 30 mi barrier. That's pathetic.)

First week 11/1 thru 11/7 - 31.
Second week 11/8 thru 11/14 - 37

Total 68, must be running some sort of pattern as it's the same result no matter what day I start and end on...

Sweet. Thanks Matt. Did you dedicate yesterday's run to ST? Soreness is only a state of mind! :-)

(hey I'm composing a letter to you as we speak, so I haven't forgotten about our buddy system.)

OK, 41 miles 2nd week (these 5K races are killing my mileage totals, but LOTS of speed this week)

Saw your 17:4x. Sorry I didn't congratulate you earlier. Your fitness could be worse, you know?

I agree with you though, racing DOES tend to hurt running mileage. Mebbe that's why they tell you not to race so much during base training.

This was supposed to be a challenge! Sheesh.

You have to do next week running backwards :)

I think he said he **biked** 123 mi. It wouldn't make sense otherwise...

Hey y'all, I have to wait until Dan fixes the Advanced Editor before I can post the updates.

funny to see the November running challenge thread right under the Eggnog thread.

If you tried to run after drinking eggnog things could get really ugly.

So I'm running my 30 mi weeks, and it's not a piece of cake. I have ups and downs in energy level, motivation level, etc. From where I am I can't see running the mileage that you do.

My question to you is: how do you manage your up and down swings? What do you do when you feel like crap? Do you force yourself out the door? I would think a certain level of pig-headedness is critical in racking up the miles, no?

I just want to run more consistently, but I find that consistency is hard to achieve.

Well, today I felt tired and my legs were heavy but I still wanted to go for 13mi...nice day, sunny (like every other day here)...
so I just run with no watch, focus on being light on my feet and ignore the pace...if it's 8min/min, so be it, it's the pace for today, if it's 6min/mi, good...I really try to focus on sensations, specially on days where I'm tired.

Motivation? rarely an issue...I really love training.

He's half-french and half-australian, I think that guarantees more than a certain level of pig-headedness :)
