Wow you're close to 200 mi already? AND you're a food slut? Will you marry me?...

You're the only chick so far, AP. Good to see you go through the miles like Mrs. Pac Man.

Unfortunately, not as close to 200mi as I'd like, more like 200k... but I did have to move at the beginning of the month, and K's daycare was closed a whole week, so that killed a lot of my mid-week milage...

Sorry AP, we go from Wednesday to Tuesday, so can you re-work your numbers for Nov 1-7, 8-14, and 15-21? Thanks

Nov 8-14: 64k ->40 mi
Nov 15-21: 61k -> 38.125 mi
Total: 176k ->110mi (the 100mi from before plus my 10mi from M & T this week so far, so yeah looks like it works out)
goal for Nov 22-28: 65k (40.625mi) (plus getting drunk at MNF in Seattle on the 27th ;-))

OK, still no big mileage with holiday travel plans, but another race tomorrow (Turkey Trot)! That will make 3 races (and 1 more planned) for Nov. Have to take effort into consideration :)

Bottomfeeder: add 51.5 this week for me :)

Yessir. If you don't break 17:4x tomorrow, your name is MUD!

I'm racing the Orlando Turkey Trot (5K), but I don't feel any snap lately. So it's doubtful that I will improve on my 19:5x from two weeks ago.

OK, glass ceiling my arse!

Week 4 was 63.5 for me giving me a total to date of 221 miles for November.

2 days to go and I've made the challenge. Obviously FM will win the overall and I'll probably be miles off 2nd, 3rd, 4th... but pleased to have got the job done :)

Last week was my biggest mileage week ever, probably by quite an amount and included my longest ever run (17 miles).

Late to posting, but I just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration.
Thinking about this thread helped me through my first ever week over 100k.
Weekly totals went like this: 30; 42; 5; 67 for a total of 144 miles over 4 weeks.
My goal is to increase my monthly mileage every month through February.

I beg to differ! AndyPants is not the only "chick" in the challenge.

I'll post my numbers later today, but she has me beat. Good job AP!

Well, my month started off crappy with a lot of post-Ironman missed days, but since week two I've kept it steady and racked up 327.5 km. (203 miles) this month, so I barely qualify.

Anyone care to up the ante in December to 400 km. (~250 miles)? I'm ramping up the running through the end of January and could use a bit of outside motivation.

Week 4

Wed 6 miles
Thurs 10 miles easy trails (wrong start time posted for turkey trot, go figure)
Fri 10 miles treadmill intervals
Sat 8 miles
Sun 4 miles easy
Mon 21 miles LSD (hurt like a bitch, strained a quad and probably would not have finished this run if it wasn't for recovery week coming.)
Tue off, felt much better

59 miles+166miles =225 miles

I am probably about done other than 5-8 miles in the next 2 days. Reallly need recovery as I have 1 more month of roughly the same.
Will post a full report as to how completing twelve 50+ mile weeks affected my run fitness, times, knees, weight, attitude, etc. This is from someone who never ran more than 40 a week, never 2 weeks in a row, and averaged 20-25 over the course of season.

I am at 41 for this week for a total of 201 for the month. Only ran 4 days as I've got the creeping crud that seems to be going around.

Horrible week. Little to no motivation, lots of snow & ice & cold temps, although Monday Night Football in Seattle was a blast ;-)

Wed 22: 10mi
Thurs 23: 5mi
Fri 24: off
Sat 25: 5mi
Sun 26: off
Mon 27: off
Tues 28: off
Weekly Total: 20mi :-(

Oh well.
Monthly total up to 130mi.

I have to admit, my mileage has also been kept up this month due in no small part to this challenge. Shallow reason, I know, but it feels good to be running regularly instead of irregularly.

As far as wrapping up this challenge, let's count the 4th week as having 9 days: Wed the 22nd to Thu 30th. Let's post on the 30th, and I will be able to declare the winners on the 1st.

You call that horrible?
Only 2 days for me. 5 miles last Wednesday, 4 miles last Friday. Not a moment of exercise Sauturday through Tuesday. Holidays with a house full of people do not a good training week make......

93 miles for me so far in November...woo-hooo!!!!

And Francois, WTF??? That tally was miles per month, right? I thought this was a 200 mile challenge. Go find the 400 mile challenge thread, for chrissakes!!!

NO fair...I'm not playing with you guys anymore...I'm taking my barely used running shoes and going home......

It just feels horrible - I have been living with a huge amount of stress since February, and it is finally catching up with me. I show all the classic signs of being overtrained - and I'm not overtrained from running - I'm over trained from STRESS.

:-(

Not sure how well my marathon in Feb will go. I will go and do it, and try to just enjoy the day. Then I will have to seriously re-assess my goal of doing Comrades in June 07.

I hear you. Whenever I go through periods you're describing - and I go through them alot - I try and get back to seeing my training sessions as a relief from life's stress, not an additional burden.

It's easy to forget that the exercise is supposed to be the fun part of the day, and not another responsibility that we somehow have to cram in.

Easier said than done though. I get the feeling that you just may surprise yourself come that February marathon day! ;-)

Sure hope so, but as long as it's fun, and I'm sure the apres race will be (BBQ in Austin with Austin79 and Tibbs, heck how can you not have fun? ;-)), then I'm OK with that. I think once I get this divorce/house/financal crap sorted out and squared away, I should be OK to ramp it up.

thanks for the words of encouragement, they help alot.
