Ok, updated to long last week, actually managed 4 yesterday and 6 today on the treadmill.
New total of 69 for 'week', +166 for the month = 235 final tally
More than I had imagined, can't wait to see what a few december speed workouts too for the 5k time.

Hats off to FM, Francois and De nada Gooball or whatever, The ST holy trinity of running.
Thanks BottomFeeder for hosting, more fun than I had imagined.

Having failed to live up to my nom de plume (like that Francois?) my revised "long" week 4 total is:

The previously advertised 63.5
Plus 8 miles yesterday
And an 8 miler and a 5 miler today

That gives a week 4 total of 84.5

Added to my 3 identiweeks of 52.5 each my grand total for November is 242 miles.

Thanks again to BottomFeeder for starting the thread and doing the tabulating and offering the prizes.

Thanks also to Francois for being an odd mix of inspiration and cautionary tale/village lunatic. I don't think I've encountered anyone who can tolerate that much mileage before and it's pretty impressive.

BottomFeeder, what will be on the postcard?

Somewhere along the way, these Wednesday-to-Tuesday "weeks" through my postings off a bit. But it really was 101 miles for the month - HONEST! :-)

And although it has a nice ring to it, I'm afraid I'm a tad too short to be the "anti-Francois."

Thanks for proposing this challenge...it's been an eye-opener! Look out December!!!!

Check out the goods yo!

That's what I've got so far this morning... waiting to hear from the rest of the crew before I'll make it official.

Looks like Lazy Ben dug deep and passed soulswimmer on the homestretch to take second while rroof stopped a few times to smell da flowers. Very exciting. The race for second ain't over though as the other two big hitters triyourbest and kdw haven't weighed in yet... not to mention whoever else may want to show their cards at the last minute.

Meanwhile I have a new crush on txvet. Gotta love the womens who run. Hey txvet, if you and I find ourselves at the same place at the same time, we need to go for a run!

I've been MIA from training since Sunday with the creeping crud that seems to be nailing everyone lately, so I am at 41 for the final 9 days and 201 overall.

Thanks man, I appreciate that. I think we should do a Dec tally as well. It would help me get to my marathon in better shape... ;-)

I'm training for a march marathon so I'll still be plodding along if you need the virtual company.

I would do a December tally, but I'm not the ideal man for the job as I will be in France and Spain for half the month. Somebody else should take the mantle and offer prizes and such. I think prizes add a nice touch any challenge.

I agree. OK, I will do December then. Let me see what I have laying around, er, in my secret stash that I could legally offer in the way of prizes...

I'll be in blighty for more than a week at the end of the month and my mother hasn't exactly embraced the always on internet era with open arms (pay as you go dialup aaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!) so I'm not best placed to run it. If I manage to hold on to second I'll read the book and re-offer it as a prize though!

I'm not giving THAT away, sheesh... ;-)

Hmmm, how about:
Top male: my copy of "Road Racing for Serious Runners" by Pfitz and Scott Douglas

Top female: a super sweet pedicure kit from Avon ;-)

Most inspirational runner: My too-big (about a unisex L) FatAss 50k shirt (the back reads: "I may be slow but I'm in front of you!")

I'll post this in a new thread.
