I just overanalyzed my entire purchase after my V3 Kickr died last week. The Zwift Hub is definitely the right choice. I was ready to pull the trigger on the Hub after Wahoo HQ told me (in writing) that 9,000 is a reasonable life span of a Kickr unit. I really thought they'd last longer.

With that said, I did end up with a new V6 Kickr, however only because my LBS stepped up. When I told them what happened with Wahoo (long story), they offered me a V6 basically at cost (a little over). That put the V6 and Hub almost at the same price. The LBS basically did what Wahoo should have done.

I'm still not sure about my decision. I love the idea of virtual shifting, and the V6 Wi-Fi doesn't really work. I've only done a couple of rides on it, but the Wi-Fi never stays connected. I'm also not sure about buying another Wahoo product. I figured if I didn't like it, I could dump it in Marketplace. V5's are selling more than what i paid for the new V6.

Enjoy the new trainer.

For what it's worth, I've been waiting for my Kickr V1 to die and it refuses to do so! It lives in a garage, is subjected to lots of temp and humidity swings (place is a steamroom after I'm done working out, and in the AM the condensation is bad enough to have shorted out my treadmill twice) but it just keeps on cranking.

I was hoping to upgrade, but friggin' thing is lasting forever! I use a lot too, like 3x/wk on average, all my hard sweatfest intervals are done on it, so I'm not babying it either. I've done zero maintenance on it either, haven't even wiped it off more than once.

Same with my v2 Kickr. Probably close to 18,000 miles on it and it just won't die. Everytime it starts sounding like it's going to die I find it's my bike, not the trainer....

Lake has half off most bike shoes. That’s an amazing deal given how expensive some are originally.

I ripped my Mavics this season on random shit while practicing and running. Also didn’t like the feel of them. So I bit on some supercross.

Enjoy the new trainer.

I spent the last week overanalyzing everything before going with the Neo 2T.

More expensive than the Kickr Core, but think it will be better long term.

My bias is not triathlon based with them. I got some Supercross cyclocross shoes. Normally mega expensive.

So I suggest their “mx” model shoes? Never owned a pair but got top rated at CX magazine or website. I owned VR90’s but the uppers separated and had fabric flapping around. Sad as I loved their feel. Couldn’t justify another pair if the Giros “broke”. Owned the Mavic cross shoes, hated. Felt bad on foot. Tore up easily.

I race 4 to 10 cross races a year. I am not great at it but have fun. Because I’m a spaz and shy about crashes. Also tons of gravel miles. Over 50% my yearly miles. So needed a new pair already. Our gravel route has a water crossing so they get nasty as hell in a year.

Did the Mavic's feel too stiff? I was looking at those or Velo Vetta or Shimano...but tried both those on 2x this past month at a store. Still pros & cons of each but want to look at the Fizik Hydra Transiro--nobody carries them around here. Mavics are rare in the USA. Kind of like a Sasquatch...mysterious & hidden.

You’re talking triathlon shoes. For me that’s a Giro SLX with speed laces. I won a duathlon (small local) with that setup, Speedplay on Giro SLX with elastic speed/lock laces. Very aero, easy entry. Superb road bike shoe. I literally hoard them. I have a sale pair I haven’t used yet from a year ago.

These Lakes are mud/off road racing shoes where you need spikes on the toes and a sole/upper that is able to run in.

Speaking of off road use:
Yes, the Mavics were a chore to put on even with thin summer socks. Mainly the heel felt like a medical ankle support device. The mesh vents tore like tissue paper. Their boa replica was not as good. Could not keep toe spikes from falling out. Would have needed red loctite.

I loved the vr90 but can’t pay that money again if the uppers have all the color peel off and flap in the wind. I had the blue black camo pair.

So trying Lakes.

If I had to ever own a single pair of race TT or multisport shoe likely a Velovetta even never owned one. Seems pure purpose made for the use. Maybe race day only.

There is a great price on the 2T right now. I really contemplated that unit as well.

Lakes are amazing. I have the 241, 301 and 403 and all are awesome. Slight different fit depending on your foot. 241 has moldable heel and fit a wide variety of feet with the multiple "fingers" and those are really popular. The 332 and 403 are also really really nice. Lake's carbon soles are super light and stiff where they need to be. We sell a ton, especially when people try them on...

So our system will not do a "buy one - get all other items at a discount" so I have just activated the 40% off. Please help a kid and include a pound of coffee with your order - thanks.

From the Front page article.

Position One Sports: This one’s interesting. Use the code STBF23, buy a pound of their Coffee for Children (Corazon de un Nina - Heart of a Child), and get 40% off your apparel order. If you ride a split-nose saddle, their bibs are a game-changer, particularly for indoor riding comfort.

The shorts are AMAZING?

The padding is exactly where it should be for aero riding

Not like every other pair of bike shorts

Highly recommend. Game changer for me

Able to ride pain free for so much longer indoors and out

Has anyone gotten the code to work? Just get a "code isn't valid for items in your cart" message.

The tri shorts and bibs have the same pad by size. We do have slightly different size pads in the products based on size.

The road bike product have a different shape and position in the garment.

The triSuits have a much thinner version of the tri pad.
