Church lady says:

Word on the street is that Mike Sinyard (owner of Specialized) was in Boulder for quite some time in the past week or two. Why would he be in Boulder when his athlete's are bringing home TT and Road world championships in Copenhagen?

Jackmott - I remeber Macca posting on his FB account: "Sometimes you have to choose the best equiment, and not the best checkbook" or something of the sort.

Crowie will be unveiled as a Specialized rider before the awards ceremony.

Well if AC is going to be out of cycling for a while it frees up some cash......... Pro triathletes come pretty cheap compared to pro tour teams.

Their pockets are deep. They had 4 teams in the pro peloton this year. More than any other bike company.

With HTC-Highroad going away, I'm sure they can now afford Crowie. Just not sure how Macca would handle it.

Nobody noticed but Rappstar usually chimes in this type of threads. I wonder why he's been quiet? :)

Because Rappstar knows the answer to which bike Crowie is riding. Just as Slowman knows all the details, but is choosing to keep the details to himself.

Same reason Dan is quiet. They most likely know already and aren't allowed to say.

With Macca focusing on the Olympics, he's probably less of a concern from a marketing standpoint to Specialized because he won't be riding his Shiv very often. Specialized will rely on Whitfield et al for the ITU segment, which probably isn't as big because road bikes will be marketed by Pro Tour riders. Crowie has more marketing appeal for the Shiv.

i was thinking, new Slice, although Shiv wouldn't surprise me, but it does look like he has the Pro missile bar on there, which won't go on a shiv without a whole lot of tooling. If it is a Shiv variation, then Specialized could be in for another good year ;)

I really think that's the new Triathlon bike that Specialized is going to bring to the market...the very few design choices that can be seen in that photo show that. Non-integrated front end for more versatile fitting options, curved seatstays for a more forgiving ride...

Zach,

Indeed. Forget the bike nonsense, those are awesome Fizik logo'd socks.

I like Craig's style.

Where do you get those?

If it is the new Specialized then one thing we do know is that it's at least as fast as the Shiv.
