I'm so glad we are on page 12 now. All those pictures on page 11 were messing with my monitor.

Pink? Maybe. Maybe not. You decide.

I don't know, but when I see those two frames side by side, its a no-brainer, which one I'd pick.. and its not the new one! The black Shiv TT is sick, and if they were trying to better it with this offering, I'm afraid they may have missed (perhaps not in numbers, but aesthetics) and they may have similar problems getting the mass appeal sales, like Cervelo did with the P4.

Why is everyone assuming this bike is meant to replace the Shiv?

Well one could argue that the Transition is set up for a "sit up and beg" riding position, its certainly in the short-tall camp and then you have the extra height of the brake hanger, but you happen to be riding one...........

Ok, so how much of all of this drama taking place right now makes it into the NBC coverage that we get to watch later this fall? Any? None?

Exactly!! Its not a SHIV - its a 2012 Transition! The 2012 Shiv's are already out there, right on the Specialized website - (the black ones without the nosecone.) This new bike is a non-UCI compliant triathlon-targeted Transition. The Shiv is still the mac-daddy.

While showing Crowie on screen they **may** say something along the lines of "And this is 2 time Ironman champ Craig Alexander on his new X bike". That's it. Nothing more.

Pink? Maybe. Maybe not. You decide.

Interesting : water bottle is in the frame (or the down tube is the water bottle).

Wonder if something comes out that you can clean? Hard to get that bike into the sink to clean out all those sticky fluids! :)

This bike clearly looks more consumer oriented than the original Shiv. Standard fork, vertical dropouts, exposed brakes, more upright position. It's gonna be a heck of a lot easier for the average Joe to fit, maintain and tune than some of the superbikes (that basically required a pro mechanic to keep in adjustment and major spacers under the aerobars unless your day job is at Cirque du Soleil).

I think the original Shiv is a pretty bike but I haven't gotten one because I don't work at Cirque de Soleil!!!!

Pink? Maybe. Maybe not. You decide.

Ok, fix'd. Sorry, I raced motocross too long.

Am I the only one that thought that is what it says? Looks like Shiv to me.

I wasn't assuming, I was speculating - I said 'if'. Either way, I have a transition pro, and certainly don't feel like I'm missing out on some big improvement here. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Specialized fan (I have 2 of their bikes), I will listen/read carefully when the information about the new bike comes out, and withhold final judgement until then. In the meantime, those are my initial feelings about it.
