If Lionel's run is on form I could maybe see top 5. But you really never know with Lionel, you hope for his sake he hasn't overbiked.

Once, Sam Appleton got into the lead I sense that they kind of backed off just slightly right at the front. That's how Lionel has been able to get back into this from a long way back!

Ali Brownlee looks to be just biding his time. Looks awesome. Waiting for the run!

Except for Beijing 2008 and Kona 2019, Ali has a super high race IQ...

Who is Tom Davis? Sam Appleton never gets enough credit imo - guess it just shows the american bias on this board...

Yeah, Davis has a USA flag, but thought he was British.

If this board has any sort of bias in terms of who it talks about and picks for podium it is more of a Canadian bias...

I'd picked Ali to win and Gustav second. But would be happy to see Gustav win, just comes across as such a genuinely nice guy. Plus all those guys making comments on his instagram or whatever about his taper week can eat crow.

bummer - would've been fun to see more top guys on good form running together.

Schoeman to take on iden? That would be good - everyone wrote off Schoeman.

I came here to say this. Ugh. Maybe Schoeman can pull off a miracle.

Jeez. Every time I watch these races I think it's over after the bike and really it's only just started.

Never - top places in big deep, competitive races almost always settled on the run!

one thing i greatly appreciate is the occasional ā€œfastest paceā€ ticker that comes up. they just showed hanson, long and sanders in the top 5 for pace.

itā€™s cool to see what the people further back in the pack doing... not just the guys at the front.

I don't know what is more off-putting.. Sam Long's nipples or Lionel's run form.

Where's that forum awards thread? This is pure gold.

I'm just grateful that he isn't wearing those desoto shorts with the crotch flap.

He's a young British pro. Came second at both IM 70.3 Gdynia and Outlaw X half iron-man distance races earlier this year.

Luis and Hanson now the fastest guys out on the course.

I think that 2 min penalty is gonna be very costly indeed.

agreed! great feature. i might quibble that they've sometimes left the camera to 'drift' - we've been watching sam long for several minutes now, but hey . . . is there anything else happening in the race?

Does the camera man fancy Sam Long?? We missed Ali injure himself at the front a fall and back to watch Sam Long in about 6th place, now the camera is focused on him again for last 20mins!
