Agreed. I think he had a GREAT swim - for him - but, competing against ITU studs and the best of the best from 70.3 - he's got a lot of work to do there.

All the ITU guys can go an extra 500m and still be fast, easily. It's not a big change from what they always do now.

He is incredibly talented. But Frodeno has already done a few 70.3 and has killed everyone, so that wasn't an enough.
And Gomez went 3.38 in Panama this year. So not an unknown either. At this stage, with the data we have already from this
year's races, I just don't know why anyone would think Sanders would make up his deficit over Frodeno and Gomez. He's young
though, so maybe in a year or two.

2 min down half way through run and he doesnt have an outside sniff for for 3rd?? Ok

.

You are now trying to shoehorn his position into a perceived battle for 3rd.

Pink? Maybe. Maybe not. You decide.

Blind Canadian loyalty. I wouldn't say the whole forum. Cool dude but let's be real here. He's is a huge notch below Gomez and frodeno. And that's not a knock.

The only thing that sucks balls is this pathetic coverage of what is clearly an amazing race.

Glad the Frodeno/Gomez showdown is living up to the hype. Absolutely amazed at Gomez racing like this after his recent schedule. Great race.

Can't wait to see what Frodeno can do in Kona. How many more years before Gomez moves up to a full IM?

completely agree about the coverage. This, more than likely, could be more exciting than Kona….and we are missing out. Oh well…this has been awesome to read about.

There was an interview with him on the ironman coverage. I just listened with half an ear, but he said he'd like to give it a shot after Rio. But if he wins here who knows. He still doesn't have that Olympic gold medal, and I guess that's what he's going to aim for first. Would love to see him at Kona though.

Hehe. Agreed.

Gomez is going to have a very, very nice retirement account from his prize purses.
