I think the other issue is that you have to be someone that really wants a huge water tank on the back of your bike. If that kind of hydration system isn't of interest to you, you likely aren't going to buy this bike.
Lots of good, sensible stuff being said here. could just be the normal carousel of sponsorship changes, or COVID-related issues from Specialized which are changing their focus a little bit. or both. but I keep coming back to these points, which I just see as flaws in the bike/product line itself and I don't think sponsorship can fix them. There have been multiple documented instances of sponsored pros not even using the hydration system as designed (lucy, tim don, probably others). if I was spending uberbike money, I wouldn't have the shiv on my list, no matter who they sponsored. maybe they realize this.
