To be honest I do not really care how a bike looks as long as it is fast but we know how this will be spun and no matter what happens it will be marketed as the fastest Cervelo ever made (with disc brakes).
We know that Cervelos have always tested independently fast or fastest of the bunch and have an outstanding track record with their aero offerings, yes. This will be stated as being the most aero bike they (or anyone else) has ever made, and they'd be right
Cervelo marketing loves this logic. Keep in mind that a company is just an organization of people, and most of the people responsible for the past excellence of Cervelo have moved on to new pastures. See the Diamondback Andean. See the (forthcoming) Cannondale TT bike. See the Open UP. See the 3T Exploro. I could go on.
The latest offerings from Cervelo are aesthetically abysmal and likely aerodynamically so as well. This bike will be a flop...I'm calling it right now -- and at that price, it will be "The Homer" of the cycling industry. I'd rather be seen on an Omni.
You realize the same lead aerodynamicist is still there, right? You know, the one that actually designed the P5, Ivan Sidorovich. The guy who developed Cervelo's in house cfd codes, and worked on the S5.
