Does a 2012 P5 - 3 SRAM Red complete bike come with the latest generation Red, with Yaw, or with the older Red components?

Also, was there a difference in the crank between 2012 P5 - 3 and 2013 P5 - 3? Same question for BB. Thanks in advance.

Thanks I thought it did. I am going to try the one for the front on the rear and go from there.

There is nowhere to fit this xlab computer mount on the Aduro on my P5 as far as I can see :(

Bummer...the mount is supposed to attach to the bottle cage - but I haven't tried it myself - I don't know if there is enough room yet....thanks for passing on the advice though...darn - back to the drawing board!!!

Yes unfortunately it won't fit on the Aduro unless you use a Torpedo mount.

Candice,

I plan on using the torpedo mount cage from X-Lab on my incoming P5. I'm still trying to find a solution for the computer. Using the cage from you guys, can the computer be mounted to it with your mount? Do you have any photos of such a set up?

The Aduro on the P5 comes with an integrated bottle mount so you would just need a cage to mount there. If you use the Cervelo integrated mount and a bottle cage, you won't be able to use our Computer Mount (it mounts via a screw). If you wanted to use our computer mount you would have to use the Torpedo mount as well. Here is an image of how it installs via the Torpedo mount. Let me know if what I said was confusing ;) and I can try explain it in a different way. I do have a P5 here and can mock it up with the computer mount and Torpedo mount and cage if you would like.

it seems like with careful selection of cage on the Aduro, you might be able to drill a hole and make this work, or share the rear cage bolt.

Thanks for the quick reply Candice. I had planned on using the integrated bottle mount with your torpedo cage which should have been ordered yesterday along with some other stuff by my dealer. It looks like there's limited computer mounting options on the P5. I haven't seen any yet that jump out at me as being the way to go. In the end, I may end up using your torpedo mount. The guys at my shop are pretty creative though. We will have to see what they come up with for ideas as well before making a final decision.

Thanks,
Shane

Quite potentially. Slowtwitchers can always tinker and make things work :) A few spacers probably for the front bolt if you wanted to share the rear cage bolt.

No problem Shane. jackmott above thought of potentially sharing the rear cage hole with a computer mount, may work but have to make sure you have enough clearance for your computer. Look forward to seeing what your guys at the shop come up with!

Here is how I have my Garmin mounted, it works really well (my eyes can easily see the screen without moving my head, and I can pull the bottle out without any issues).

Thanks Adam. It shifts flawlessly with the SRAM RED yaw front derailleur. George does good work.

Is anyone willing to explain how the seat post clamp (the part that connects the seat rails to the post) is assembled? Mind came in pieces and while I haven't looked to much at the pieces I wanted to see if someone could help me out.

Zach,

It is not super easy to explain but it is a pretty simple and nifty assembly. Maybe BrandonTX would be able too type it out better; he seems to have a skill for explaining that stuff. I will PM you and we can follow up on a call tomorrow (if you can wait).

The long straight part bolts into the slot; you can adjust your saddle set back by where you choose to bolt this piece. The round-ish parts hook around this bottom piece and hold the rails. That is a basic on how it goes but, once it is together, you'll go "oooooh, of course!" At least, I did :)

We've mounted Garmins to the stem two ways...one by just wrapping the rubber band around the entire stem since I have no spacers. It's very tight but works.

For Amy's, we used part of the Torhans computer mount. We cut off the back of the mount and screwed it into the back bottle cage hole. I'll try to post a picture tomorrow.

I'll also try to answer/describe the seat clamp as well...manana.

Did you get it sorted? I can try to explain...there are 4 pieces (dogbone shaped piece, saddle clamp with a rubber center link, and 2 halves of the clamp) I think and 3 screws. The 'dogbone' shaped piece goes in the seat post slot. The piece that has the rubber center goes on top of the seat post rail, and the two shorter allen head screws screw into the dogbone shaped piece. The other two pieces fit around the saddle rails and the saddle clamp with the rubber center. Does that make sense? We tighten our saddle clamp from the drive side. When ours shipped, it shipped complete with two 'dummy rails' in the saddle clamp. Obviously take those out.

Here is a picture of Amy's Garmin mount using part of a Torhans mount. she used a torhans bottle but found that she actually likes the between the bars bottle better. I cut off the back of the Torhans mount and used one of the holes in the 'half moon' section to screw into the rear hole of the between the bars mounting bracket and cage...

Here is the top down shot of the Garmin with the BTA bottle mounted (along with another side look). This works very well if you don't need to choke up on the extensions. My hands do not contact the Garmin at all (I grab the extensions with the shifter pivot centered at the second knuckle...or base of the 2nd finger). Extracting the bottle works with minimal or no contact if you just pull up and forward simultaneously. I mostly ride chip and seal for training rides...no issues to date.

Yeah I saw a complete p5 in person today and found out I am missing the dogbone piece and the two associated screws. It explains why I couldn't figure it out. Trying to locate one now and the seller is checking his parts because he had it recently.
