Sorry for the disruption of our stream ...
RACETIME: 01:08
Power disruptions on the island have knocked out our internet connection here in Kona. We're trying to work on the problem right now.

No, every timing mat is connected to battery backups that can go all day... (At least if it`s Sportstats doing the timing).

Not sure why my post is blank, but here it is...

The Blazeman trilogy:

2005: Jon Blais courageously finishes Kona with ALS
2006: Brian Breen races for Jon Blais, who 1 year later after completing the race is in a wheel chair
2007: Jon's prediction that he wouldn't be alive for this race comes true may 27, 2007 as he loses his battle with ALS

Pro Leanda Cave is racing as a Blazeman Warrior!! GO LEANDA!

AG'er Karen O'Riordan is racing Jon's retired Kona number 179 today.

Mia Richter and other AG'ers race for Team Blazeman and the War on ALS today...bc Jon can't.

RIP Jon Blais

GO WARRIORS!!

No feed today, Kona is gone away, ... (for those who can rmember the Herman Hermits)

Time for pure speculation: What about the weather? Windy year? How will it affect the course (without Faris to chase the helicopter)? Right now (http://www.weathercentral.com/.../hi_kailua_kona.html): Temp: 72°F (22°C) Partly Cloudy Humidity: 38% Wind Speed: W 8 MPH

Kona forecast or conditions are pretty much useless.. You need to see hawi, kawaihae, waikaloa etc..
Current says w 8 at hawi but forecast says NE 10-15
Winds usually shift anyway sometimes makeing head winds both ways depending on how long it takes you to get to hawi.

Waimea shows east 10 mph inland bit from kawaihae(turn off QK to hawi)

Surf cam and weather at kawaihae shows north at 5 right now forecast going to 9-16 ene then ne
This may be good site to watch winds also has a surf cam

Slowman...is everyone in the world trying to access ST....between Ironmanlive.com croaking and ST suddenly slowing to a crawl, I am in major deprivation mode. Even my wife says its unacceptable that Ironmanlive is croaking and she'd rather watch American Idol or an Home Improvement show than any sporting event!

I too am a frustrated Ironman Fan. I am right now pulling for DeBoom. I bought my present race wheels from him a few years ago.

Anyways: I hope this isn't a shameless plug, but since we can't watch the coverage I set up a special on my web store for ironman fans.

from insidetri.com...

8:31 AM Badmann spottedOur spotters on the Queen K just saw the six-time champion on the side of the road by a medical van. We don't know if she crashed or if she is feeling ill as well? We will try to update you on this situation. 8:32 AM Stadler rumorWord is the defending champion may also be suffering from a stomach bug and is not feeling very well today. 8:36 AM Badmann is outWord is she crashed in the first five miles on the Queen K, even before the Energy Lab and Airport. Her front wheels shows a broken spoke and she was being bandaged up with what looks like a fractured collarbone. We have not confirmed the cause of the crash. Badmann was a heavy favorite and loved by all here in Kona. We hope she isn't badly hurt. 8:39 AM from the Lieto campInsider info from those close to uber-biker Chris Lieto is that he will try to push 360 watts during the first 40-minutes here on the bike and then reassess the situation. Right now, Lieto is leading the race out on the Queen K and very few, if any, racers can match that kind of sustained power. Keep in mind, Lieto raced well at the Ht. Hood Classic in Oregon earlier this summer, which is a professional cycling race. So, he is in a different league from most of the triathlete "bikers" out here. 8:47 AM Stadler is on the moveStadler, stomach bug and all, is on the move. It looks like he is ready to start pursuing Lieto as he has pushed past the main group and is after the race leader. Word on the course is that Belgian Rutger Beke is having difficulty in the early bike miles.

Ironman.com is now saying that Stadler pulled to the side and threw up and is continuing to ride with the second group chasing Lieto. Torbjorn looks like he also might have made it up to the chasing "group."
