Yeah, I was sort of hoping for it to be lower myself :)
yep, got a PM.

The Body Paint is actually pretty well made, the seam right under the bottom of the zipper just came apart (Probably due to me standing up in it before I had it all the way up/on) but was a quick fix once I got home. Now that I think about it I've had loose seams on a couple of Castelli products in the past...hmm. In the tunnel the only clothes I tested were a Desoto 1 piece vs. an LG 2 piece (spoiler: 1 piece is better :) ) as I hadn't bought the Bodypaint at that point.

Doh! Of course you have a PM... have you tried field testing? What did you learn in the tunnel with position and equipment?

From Powerman Zofingen 2013:

1.) AP/NP: 184W/191W
2.) Actual speed: between 31.0 km/hr - 31.4 km/hr
Official speed: uh, 23 km/hr (Long story short, waited ~1.75 - 2.0 hours on the side of the road for a replacement wheel.)
3.) 155 lbs
4.) 150 kms
5.) 2009 Cervelo P2C with Zipp 404/808. Rear with disc cover. Continental Sprinter tubulars. Giro A2 helmet, tri suit.
6.) Between 6800 ft - 7300 ft of total climbing. Not sure of the actual number, but its a hilly 50 km lap done three times. And like tradition, it was raining/wet all day. Tried to save a little for the monster 30k hilly run after.

Big Kahuna 1/2 Ironman in Santa Cruz - 9/8/13

1) 175 Watts (185 NP)
2) 20.1 mph
3) 56 mi
4) 168lbs (6'1")
5) Trek Speed Concept 7.0 w/ Ventus bar, Flo 90/Disc, GP 4000 23 front/ 25 rear w/ latex, Omega front brake
6) This was me trying to overcook myself on the bike - FTP is 225ish. Seems kinda slow for the power, but there was 1700 feet of elevation gain and the pavement was ok, not great. Hurt my back the day before and wasn't sure if I would be able to run. Ironically I had a big PR on the run (1:33) and went 15+ minutes faster than I did last year in the same race.

I must be doing something seriously wrong because there is no way I would average 23+ putting out that power. I weigh about the same as you do, but my speed is way off of that. My last two olympic distance races have been over an hour with average power in the 240-255 range.

Ironman Wisconsin

1) 213 average, 230 normalized
2) 22.05 mph (5:04:48)
3) 112 miles
4) 153 lbs
5) Kestrel 4000SL, Cycleops (Reynolds) 46mm wheels
6) I own deeper wheels, but I opted for the shallower wheels because of the hills and turns, and because I was abnormally and irrationally nervous about flats. For all of the press that this course (deservedly) gets for its rolling hills, there are plenty of flat sections where I was riding into the wind and wishing I had ridden my deeper wheels.

I really love this thread. The numbers are staggering.

There seems to be some huge variation in numbers. I.e. someone averaging 26.1 at 313 watts versus 212 watts for 25. I guess "obviously" there's some significant aero differences and one course is pretty flat versus a more rolling course, but for two people in an aero position on pretty high-end aero equipment, how is there such an enormous difference?

Or is it simply just an enormous aerodynamic issue?
