6) No complaints, felt real good about this one. Lots of pacelining early on when the wind was less favorable, then a great tailwind in the closing miles when things began to spread out.

Is this you? (from your blog):

That's me, since this picture (IMLP) I have gotten slightly lower up front and my seat is quite a bit higher. These changes gave me much faster bike splits in Kona and Florida, but admittedly I rode Placid almost alone, in Kona I was just another MOP relative to the field and was stuck in groups, and in Florida things spread out a little but I really spent the first 90 miles with at least 2 other athletes pacing.

That is a pretty solid CdA for your size and frame if it was at sea level.

Agree. This is an enviable CdA and/or a British tt course.

That was at altitude. I did not win the race. My tt bike weighs over 19lbs. I'd like to think if I dropped a few lbs on both my bike and body and dialed in my position I could bring it up a notch. Two people were faster with lower AP.

29.8mi/h 331W Powermeter - 48:35
29.6mi/h 310W Powermeter - 48:54
29.1mi/h 334W Powermeter - 49:43

Btw, I would get annihilated on any triathlon with a run over 2 miles

I dunno, how is the swim? You might be able to walk the run on your local sprint and win =)

Just my two cents: Would be cool if the thread was renamed to Post your average power (watts), FTP, weight and average speed (MPH) from your last race so it was easier to relate to the riders.

Local Sprint
1. 229 watts (NP 231) IF .93
2. 23.0 mph with a 13mph wind
3. 12 miles
4. Rider weight 152 lbs
5. Cervelo P2 classic (56) Flashpoint 60 front Flashpoint 80 Rear w/cover, very clean front end (torhans, omega brake, no visible cables, Zipp VukaBull bars), giro advantage 2 helmet
6. sea level flat, very crowded course had to sit up a few times and slow down to pass people, I also blame my lack of bike handling skills, cornering etc..

1) Average watts 261W
2) Average speed in MPH 21.5MPH - if you take out the transition - it was more like 22mph.
3) Distance 13.3 MPH
4) Rider weight 78 Kilos / 172 LB
5) Describe bike and wheels TT Bike, 50mm deep rim at front, powertap with cover at rear
6) Misc notes, to whine and make excuses for your lack of power and/or lack of aero 5 lap course - two hills each lap and block headwind up them.
7) Optional: a picture (or link to a picture) of you in your aero position. I need to get a picture! Its not extreme but comfy for me.

Trifecta Omnium TT (Las Cruces, NM)

1) 256 W (4.24W/kg)
2) 25.0 mph
3) 12.57 miles
4) 133lbs, 5'10"
5) 2006 S-Works Transition, pre-FC Zipp 404s, LG Vorttice, no skinsuit (just shorts/race cut jersey)
6) Gusty wind, mostly crosswind. Got a goathead (inside the last mile I think), so front tyre was soft as I hit the line and flat by the time I rolled back to the car. 4400ft elevation (low altitude for me, I live at 7400ft). Got out of aero for one of the cattle-guards.
Slightly (0.5mph) faster on about 10W less than I did at Valley of the Sun... either Phoenix has thick air or I held a more aero position. No idea which.

Phoenix will have thicker air, but wind and hills are big factors also. Are your races posted on Strava?

Do you use latex tubes? I've been real lucky with latex tubes just stretching around those things.

HITS Naples, FL Olympic Distance

1) 233 W (2.82 W/kg)
2) 23.8 mph
3) 24.8 miles
4) 6', 182 lbs
5) BMC TM02, Flo 60/FloDisc, BTA bottle (nothing else on frame), Giro Advantage, Tri Top & Bottoms, Quarq powermeter
6) Really happy with my aerodynamics for this one, not much to complain about. Looking through the thread, nearly 24 mph on 2.82 w/kg seems pretty solid.

Valley of the Sun TT: http://www.strava.com/activities/115028574
Trifecta TT: http://www.strava.com/activities/118873537 (My last race as a Cat 5! Hurrah!)
(ETA: I started my Garmin 30 seconds early on each... basically as the guy in front left. I stopped them whenever I remembered.)

Neither was pan-flat. VoS had a light breeze, but I forget which way it was blowing... I *think* it was a light tailwind on the way out/headwind on the way back. Trifecta was slightly flatter, though more rolling, whereas VoS was uphill out and downhill back.

Butyl tubes on GP4000S I'm afraid... (I should retire from ST since I'm using butyl tubes and no wheelcover). Maybe I should think about sourcing some latex tubes, we do have a goathead problem in NM.

5) 300 ft in elevation. Course is pretty flat but 2 short steep climbs that kill all momentum.
