Who was that Aussie? Did he say 'Emma is well down...' sounded like it.

Jesus - Moffy having a shocker.

are the women just spinning on the bike? for the past couple of months, it was non-stop how brutal the bike leg is but 27 women have stayed together through 6 of the 8 laps???

Even Carolina Routier is in the front pack ... I can only assume they are riding defensively.

Enough elite men have said how hard the climb is, so perhaps if the men attack it, we'll see a very different race. But I really didn't expect what we are currently witnessing (via sporadic timings!)

They are gapping the chase group with every lap so no.

that doesn't mean that much. the chase group could just be spinning also and have weaker riders doing a slower spin. there's no way that 27 women could stick together through 3/4 of the bike if there were attacks and women riding hard.

All the splits (it appears) happened on the downhill. They're riding super defensively on the up-hill, and their lack of riding ability is getting them shed on the downhill or they're dangling off the back and taking a couple KM's to get back on.

I don't like agreeing with Sutto, but maybe best thing not to have Nicola race on this course until next year, if she'd of raced she'd be 90 seconds up on these girls right now, and they'd have a year to do something about it.

Just seen a periscope of them on the hill and they aren't exactly hammering it. My prediction of Jorgensen, Holland, Stanford is unchanged!

I predict the same with True taking the second american spot in 4th or 5th.

With Stanford and Holland needing to podium for GB qualification, it is not their interest to race Gwen and blow up. So not expecting any upsets

Well, from the timing, it seems Sarah True has caught up and Vicky and Gwen dropped a second behind. Surely Gwen can't lose...

Just seen the Periscope and see that there isn't a gap. They do look tired though!

Wow, I don't often get predictions right!

1) Jorgensen

2) Stanford

3) Holland.

The interesting thing is that GW only won by 19 seconds. So while she is still comfortably the best in the world, the gap is narrowing...

Just realised that I saw no mention of Helen Jenkins... Did she even line up?

apparently Holland fell around 7k and was in 5th briefly

jenkins withdrew during the swim, supposedly after being hit in the head

will be interesting to see who does better in Edmonton from her and Stimpson

Helen took a beating in the swim.

I have felt for some time these youngsters were closing the gap at the shorter Sprint distance, but not over the 10km. The Brits proved that the Gwensanity show won't have it all their own way in 2016 as some would have you think.

The mens race is going to be a CRACKER.

Apparently she was kicked in the swim and withdrew before the bike.

Gwen ran something like 34 minutes for the 10K ... proof that although they didn't attack the hill, the hill bit back.

Will be interesting to see what Mola's run time is.

He was 20 seconds up on Luis who won over 5k in Hamburg.

Or Gwen just did what she needed to win...

Given the lack of coverage, the heat, no prize money, I wouldn't be surprised if Gwen didn't go full gas on the run. No point risk blowing up in the heat. Just get it done.

Rubbish. Sorry - don't agree there.

It was a tactical race. She sat in with the other three for a while and then eased ahead. Def not as fast as she could have run that 10k. But we can agree to disagree.
