With grad school thrown into the mix this year I won't know for sure how long I can stay until we are a bit closer. But I plan to make it out even if just for a day trip or something.

And again to those who don't know anyone on here -- that's why I went last year. And it was a lot of fun :) And we've stayed in touch and kept that motivation and vibe going all year!

If I can make it to the training weekend, it will be my first time flying with my bike so I am a bit nervous. I was wondering if anyone had an insight on which of the 4 airports would be easiest to fly into (Burbank, Ontario, LAX, Long Beach). Also any insight on which airlines have the best fares for bikes or who should be avoided?

Anyone else flying in that might want to coordinate plans so we can share a rental car?

I think you should pick the airport based on which flight will get you there the easiest. Every airline should be able to handle your bike with no problem - it's just that some will charge you and some won't. I always fly Air Canada since I'm in Toronto and I fly direct to LAX. It's a bit further to drive to Xantusia from there, but I like having the direct flight. The best fares/airlines will depend on where you're flying from.

Burbank would be my first choice.
Ontario the second.

Palmdale has an airport which would be the closest and United flies there, but might be more expensive. Southwest flies into both Burbank and Ontario, I think.

You can see if there is a loaner bike at Dan's or through Kuota (PM Paul Thomas) and that way you would have to bring your bike.

If anyone rides a 51cm, I could bring both of mine.

Rental cars--don't worry about right now. Once people have their flight arrangements made, we will try to coordinate rides and sharing of the rental cars.

When I get a day that I'm not working 10-11 hours, I'll update the list of who I have coming.

Hmm, this sounds like a ton of fun. Let me see if my better half would mind if I miss Passover (he's Jewish - I'm not) and come down. If so, I'll bring lots of puppy treats from my company. :)

If anyone else is flying out of the Northwest let me know and if I'm going perhaps we can coordinate flights as my schedule can be relatively flexible to a certain extent.

I just booked my flight! I land Thursday night at about 7 and then leave Sunday afternoon. Here I come, Nelson!!!

We'll have to double or triple up in the showers. (ha, I just said that for any lurking men.)

If they haul us down to the pool again, that worked pretty well.

I also have my flight to LAX. I arrive on Wednesday morning and leave on Sunday night. I figured since I was traveling half way across the country having an extra day to train and get adjusted to the time change was a good idea. Plus the cost to travel on Thursday was almost as much as another night at the resort!
