I have to echo Dawn's encouragement especially to all of the lurkers out there. I'm an infrequent poster at best, not super speedy or an Iron-distance girl and I had a great time last year. It's a little daunting to commit to a training weekend with strangers you only know from the internet (reinforced by the expression on anyone's face when you tell them your plans) but I made great friends, came away more motivated in my training and had an awesome time.

So, from one lurker to whatever fellow lurkers that are on the fence, definitely consider coming out.

The first year we had a gal who had never done a tri. She fit right in and has done at least one half, plus other races. So yes, don't worry about getting laughed out of California! But you have to be ready to do a lot of laughing!!!

Do we have to swim or bike or run? It's the week after IMAZ... Can I just eat, drink, sit in the hot tub and play with the dogs? I might be up for short easy stuff, but I can't make any promises.

You can do how ever much or little you want. There are some great hiking trails that some of us run and some of us walk. Some rode short, others rode long. And the dogs would love all the attention.
