I just looked at all the pictures and the hottest looking bike has to be the Litespeed Blade followed by the Black Cervelo.

yeah. It's funny. I keep updating it slowly. I just added time trial levers and bar and shifters. I think I'm in the final level of upgrade before I finally replace it. Of course I won't replace it for 3 or more years. It's wierd. After Ironman Florida, I realized that I wasn't bike limited at all. It was TOTALLY adequate for my level, but I can't wait to upgrade at some point. Good luck in your races this year with your Raleigh.

Who has the hottest bike?

Who cares!

It's not all about the bike. It's swim bike and run.

Is it just me or what. I am no expert, but a quick scan through some of these bikes and I would say that 3/4 have what I would consider an excessive and what the fork manufacturers say is an unsafe amount of stack height for carbon steerers. If they don't have carbon steerers then stack away, but I would then start to question if the person is on the right bike or has been fitted properly if they have to stack the front end of the bike up 4cm+!

Interested in what the real fit experts have to say.

I don't want to get in your case, but you do know that those wheels are actually aerodinamically worse than 36-spoke box-rim wheels!?

But, SAC, they look fast. Which seems to be more important with some of these folks!

SAC, No I didn't know that. I know that they are heavy like *&%^, but I figured someday when I get a nice set of race wheels I won't know what to do with myself. Besides they never go out of true! Got a set of 404's that you want to dump cheap?

No pictures but I did go 5:00 flat at both IMC and IMH on steel Gardin Road bike back in the early 90's. Frame mounted bottles. Profile 1, the orginal profile aerobar mounted on both bikes. Both had full Dura-Ace eight-speed.

Back then, it was not about the bike!

Fleck, I still use 8 speed for racing. It works with 9 speed shifters (in fact often better for some unknown reason). I just have a greater variety of 8 speed stuff kicking around.

I agree it is not about the gear. Everyone is fit and has the gear, but it is what is in between the ears that makes the real difference on race day.

My 1999 Cervelo P2 frame with equivalent vintage wheels and a mixture of updated components. I have no plans to replace it for the coming season, but the availability of 650c tires is becoming quite a bother.

When I win the lottery, but without the bar end shifters. Not sure what's up with that.

I have bar ends on three road bikes, the thing with them is when riding in the drops your shifters are close to your hands, there light and can be changed to friction shifting if something gets out of adjustment and there cheap to replace, but i have never had to replace any. I have been setting up my road bikes like this for almost twenty years now.

Fair enough. I'm in traffic most of the time on my road bike, so I'm just used to thinking I need to be on the hoods for the braking. However, properly positioned brake levers accessible from the drops would obviously work too.

I don't know, something about a bamboo bike really scratches my itch.
