Norden has a stellar position. Her shifting on the saddle and her occasional rounded back/upward tilted hips points to her needing a better saddle, but her position is awesome

Haug is quietly doing all the right things apparently. We need some more commentary and camera work on her to assess...

So, is it safe to say that the cones 20 meters apart?

I've Confirmed with the Production Team that the Road Cones on the inside have been purposefully spaced at 20m!

Morrison is a big biker. Pretty sure she has went low 20 for a 10TT. But wait till the run though.....

Kimberley Morrison has won several Ironman 70.3 races and this year got some great results in the GB National TT Champs (3rd at 10 miles, 4th at 25 miles and 3rd at 50 miles). So yeah........she's a big biker! LOL!

it was fair... they highlighted the differences, which IMO was decent journalism.

I have asked the Production Team. They look to be about 20m apart possibly for that purpose!

They did say earlier that they were. A good reference for us watching

It could be that she's just a roadie riding a TT bike for right now. For someone who puts 95% of their miles in on a road bike it's not unexpected.

Now, for a long course athlete this would be a red flag.

Actually making the sport relatable to public is huge move forward for our sport to survive. The camera work on the spotlights is so much better than what we've seen. GREAT visuals, and the commentary is really putting Challenge far ahead of WTC right now. They saw an opening and are taking a huge step forward.

100% agree

I don't remember Norden's run being that bad in ITU, she'd have never been top 1-3 female like she was for a few years.

That’s a nice touch. Makes it easier for the pros to make sure they don’t accidentally draft. Especially ITU guys who might not be used to knowing how to gauge 20 meters

When I did the race last year they had a huge digital board which would display our race number and # of completed laps we could see as we passed it

We have a large LED screen that display bib, name and lap count near the end of each lap, look for the Sportstats tent. We also have 5 timing loops on the track giving 100 bike splits of data

Make you download the Sportstats Tracker

Follow the money - who do you think is paying for all of this?

It's not perfect, but it is what it is.

She looks like a real pedal masher- low cadence, high force. Lots of fatigue going into those leg muscles. Could make that run tough.

yeah, but things changed since London 2012 honestly, and who knows how things have gone since COVID starts. Since London she focused on actual TTs and her run fell back relatively.

That said, it's twice the 10km off of twice the bike, so it's a different animal but generally runners run and so I'm curious to see how Haug and Hall do relative to Norden. The race is starting...

Low HR too. If started running better when I lowered my cadence on the bike.

based of just phenotyping and the splits I like Findlay right now... 2min on the bunch and 3min on Haug and probably a faster runner than Norden.
