What did Brownlee do?

He bodychecked/bumped into him on purpose. Frodeno called him a bum.

When?

During the broadcast?? WTF. I totally missed this.

This is awesome someone post this.

Does AB have the patience to nail Kona? He just races too jumpy which is great for olympic distance itu, but I also said this race is a total throw away year as he can just learn and go take his Kona ass kicking....which is what he took.

I heard that the Frodeno-Brownlee thing goes back to their ITU racing days. Brownlees had a reputation for yelling at people in the pack to take pulls and were taunting Jan with something along the lines of common Olympic champ get your butt up here and do your share …. not sure if this can be confirmed though

Vinokourov will make the fastest bike split for the amateurs. Close to the pros.

Vino is crushing this course. He's on track to run faster than Lionel Sanders and Alistair Brownlee! He's tracking sub 8:50.

lol that's likely the PG version of how it went down.

It was TZ who was in the front group and was dying just holding on wheels...."get up here and work Tommy or we are going to drop you"....TZ- "i cant pull through"......"work or your off".....TZ- "i cant".....30s later they put in a surge and popped goes Tommy.

Given how much he doped when he was cycling, imagine how much he is doing without serious testing>>??!!

The two things I'm looking forward to:
1. Cam's trolling posts to Lionel beating him
2. Lionel's updates/changes/getting a coach video for 2020 season

What is Cam's beef with Lionel anyway? I missed the start of that feud.

No beef.

Once again, Sanders can’t get it done. WHY is this guy so hyped??

In a sport with a severe lack of personalities, he stands out. He’s gotten other pros to start sharing their training and videos as well. He has so many fans and supporters because he puts it all out there.

He’s also shown himself to have the potential to do something special on the right day and it’s always exciting to wonder when it might happen. Why hate?

Lionel is Tim Tebow. Doesn't have world class talent, but has world class personality. LOL

That's a bit harsh. Lionel is one of the best in the world. He might not be the best, but he's elite. Tebow hosts an obstacle course show in jeans and high tops.

Tebow also won the heisman, national titles, nfl playoff games, and hits .180 in single A baseball. Lionel wishes he had that resume lol.

You just sound stupid comparing college and single A baseball to being in the top-25 in the world at something. Tebow has a career 75.3 passer rating. Lionel has one the fastest Kona times ever.

You can hate him, but Jesus, don't compare him to Tebow.

Pretty disappointing and disrespectful. I wasn't surprised by AB's performance, I kinda predicted he'd fold by mile 18 but would be a very important ally to Frodo since he was assured to be at front on the S/B.

What’s up with this Omius band I’ve seen athletes wearing in Kona?

$150 for something to supposedly increase cooling? Color me skeptical.

Although I like Brownlee, this race should’ve humbled him. Maybe he’s pissed at himself because his Prefontaine approach to the race didn’t pan out. After all, he qualified on a race with no swimming

What did Brownlee do?

I saw it live, there was no contact. Brownlee reached out to Jan to give him a high-five/hand slap as they were crossing paths during the first out and back and Jan ignored him and just kept running.

A bitter rivalry would add some interest to next year.

This is badly needed in the Sport, especially a British/German rivalry media would whip that one right up!

Been saying Triathlon needs this for years to bring casual sports fans to Triathlon.

Two observations

Haug wearing earphones. Did I see that?
Answer: cooling headband! Wondered what it was.

Lucy looked like she was getting paced by her husband not long before she repassed Crowley.

+1 with quotes like this: "Although the skin's thermo receptors may not perceive the headband to be cold, IT IS CONTINUING TO COOL YOU!"

I could push Frodo at the finish if I was in Kona. That wouldn't make a rivalry. I'd have to be at his talent level. Brownlee is not.
