There was a little chatter on treadmill deals earlier in this tread (from Nov 18).
I have been researching treadmills for the past month (mostly for my wife, but I'll use it on occasion). I finally pulled the trigger on a Sole F80 after reading a lot of reviews and considering my price range. Here's the breakdown:
Amazon, Sole Website, and Sears all have the F80 (last year's model) for $999. They all have free shipping, but the benefit of no sales tax for Amazon and Sole. But I went with Sears because I could get:
- The free shipping includes treadmill assembly
- Use code SEARS35OFF300AFFILIATEDEALS and get an additional $35 off
- Ebates is currently offering 10% cash back for Sears.com purchases (which is better than no tax as neither Amazon nor Sole have an Ebates deal right now). If you have never used Ebates, it is great thing to always check when buying online. Here is a referral link to Ebates.
- Signed up for a Sears Credit Card and received an additional 5% off for using the card (If you already have a Sears card and you use it, you can get the 5% off. I signed up because I didn't have one and I normally do not recommend opening a line of credit to get a deal, but this was a big enough purchase that I could justify it ... plus, I have 800+ credit score, so not worried about it dinging my credit too much)
- Signed up for and used the 'Shop Your Way Rewards' account at Sears.com and received an additional $45.84 in credit towards my next purchase
- Received another $5 off $50 coupon upon checking out
So when you total it all up, I paid $978.62 today for the Sole F80 to be delivered and assembled in my home. I'll get back $91.67 from Ebates in a few months, plus I have $45.84 in credit towards my next purchase. So the way I look at it, I just scored a Sole F80 for $841.11. That is the best deal I could find after running many different scenarios.
Online shopping is hard work, but can be rewarding :)
Can't wait to see my wife's face when she sees the treadmill ... and also when she sees the deal I got!
