I had an interesting conversation with another triathlete today who is currently training with Brett Sutton. There seems to be 2 prevailing thoughts on training.

1. High intensity work and keeping the body fatigued.

2. High volume work and building the body up with a strong base.

What is your opinion on the balance of intensity and volume in training? Or do you switch depending on sport, athlete, time of the season, etc.?

I like a high volume of intensity. And I've never found any base.

43, bitch.

That's like giving 110%, right?

You nailed it.

3-15, 12 years of swim focus. 22-43 cycle focus and the occasional run, I still love it but I'm getting a bit bored of the money and science needed to get better so is it time to switch to running for the ultimate triathlon or will i just mess up my knees?

If one is MOP and (over) pays for a coach, then finishes FOMOP, did he get his money's worth? Just looking out for my fellow triathletes with money to burn. I fancy custom painted bikes. And helmets.

Was it the MOP athlete's goal to finish FOMOP or FOP? Coaches help athletes achieve proper goals. Fixed outcomes in which to strive. Measurable. Not easy. Not impossible.

Is more more or is more less?

Also, 43/42*100 =/=110%

Wow I drive across country pondering awesome questions then I find out that I may be asked the same questions I was going to ask you.

Is this a Russell's paradox?

(PS - I'm in Asheville now for many months. Let me get less round and more in shape then come down for a visit & let's ride)

Related question, how do I mount turbo cottons to my 650c race wheels, they have bunch of extra space.

Once again ML proves that he has horrible taste in beer. For those of you that don't know about the first time he proved that, that was in Canada.
He tries to redeem himself every year at American Zofignen but we all know it's a farce.

ML I'd still hang out with you again though!

Religion.

DD, you're right about many/most things, but to say that this beer is bad, well . . . we may have to tell all your friends that your fangs are fake . .

whats the best power meter for someone using osymetric chain rings and already has a carbon clincher for a rear wheel (no powertap or similar hub)? Is a pedal based unit better or is it worth it to exchance the hub for a hub based power meter? keep in mind, I have one bike and multiple wheel options

On the internet, you can be anything you want. It is a pity so many people choose to be stupid.
